(2006 to 2009) Cobham designs and manufacturers RF microwave components and
antenna systems for the defense industry. Customers are Primary DOD
Contractors. Began as a Contract Recruiter and became a permanent Sr.
Staffing Specialist reporting to the Corporate Vice President of Human
Resources supporting eight facilities for senior level searches. Expanded
beyond staffing and recruiting to establishing the company's first
corporate wide agency agreement and became actively involved in the
company's college recruiting program.
Contract Recruiter, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Lexington, MA (2005 to 2006)
Lincoln Laboratory is a DOD sponsored federally funded research and
development center involved in next generation technology research for
biological, chemical, and missile defense system's, aerospace technology,
and communication systems. As one of the recruiters, utilized ADP VIRTUAL
EDGE for sourcing technical professionals for several divisions, aerospace
sensors, bio-defense, imaging, antennas, lasers, radar, RF, IR, DSP and
electro-optics and solid-state components. Traveled to support nationwide
college recruiting programs and to classified job fairs.
Contract Recruiter, Goodrich Corporation, Surveillance & Reconnaissance
Systems, Chelmsford, MA. (2001 to 2005) The Chelmsford facility is a
dynamic business unit that produces state-of-the-art high performance
electro-optical airborne reconnaissance and ground support systems.
Customers include the US Government, Government Prime Contractors and
various international defense organizations. As sole recruiter, managed
full cycle recruitment utilizing such search tools as Internet websites,
employee referrals, and classified job fairs. Involved in succession
planning, manpower forecasting, and new hire orientation. The primary
thrust of recruiting focused on Systems, Software, Electrical, Mechanical
and International Field Service Engineers.
Contract Recruiter, BAE SYSTEMS, Nashua, NH (2001-2001), Reported to the
Manager of Staffing for this major defense manufacturer recruiting for
electro-optics, infrared technology, microwave components and
microelectronics. Utilized RESTRAC for sourcing electronic design, software
and systems engineers.
Contract Recruiter, M/A-COM, Lowell, MA (2000-2001) A major manufacturer of
Defense Electronics, Wireless Communication Systems, Components, and
Semiconductors with over 3,000 employees worldwide Reporting to the Manager
of Staffing supported three HR Managers with multi-location
responsibilities for the recruitment and staffing of software, RF and
design engineers, IS, accounting, sales, marketing, and related support
staff up to the director level. Utilized Internet recruiting, local and
international job fairs, advertising, and employee referral programs.
Contract Recruiter, BOC Edwards, Wilmington, MA (1999-2000), A major multi-
location manufacturer of semiconductor production equipment with 200
employees locally and an additional 300 employees nationwide. Handled
nationwide recruitment for technical and professional individuals
implemented alternative advertising programs and Internet recruiting.
Provided support to site managers throughout the U.S. and corporate staff
locally. Utilized Microsoft Access computerized HR package. Actively
involved in filling over 50 new requisitions. Involved with new hire,
employee transfer and relocation programs.
Contract Recruiter, Venture Seabrook, Seabrook, NH. (1999-2000) A 500+
employee, 24/7 unionized OEM manufacturer of molded exterior parts for the
auto industry. Assisted the HR Manager with technical recruiting and
succession planning. Helped developed a computerized applicant tracking
and retrieval system. Assisted other department members with advertising
and recruiting issues.
Contract Recruiter, West Lynn Creamery, Lynn, MA. (1999). An 800+ 24/7
unionized employee operation. Supporting the HR Manager, responsibilities
were primarily recruiting for the IT, accounting, maintenance, warehousing
and production departments. Special project was to hire over 40 new
drivers within 30 days. Implemented summer high school recruiting program.
Utilized and help implemented a $1,000 referral and sign-on bonus program.
Contract Recruiter, Foss Manufacturing, Hampton, NH (1997-1998) A 600-
employee converter of synthetic plastics primarily used by the automotive
industry. Responsible for all hiring functions for a compressed/rotating
three/four day hourly work schedule. Assisted the HR Director with
professional staffing needs. Was responsible for college recruiting and
internship programs. Worked with local manufacturers and utilized out
placement programs.
Prior to 1997, Availability Personnel Consultants, Bedford, NH, A
contingency search firm specialized in technical support to major
corporations throughout New England. Was responsible for new market
development, client retention and all aspects of recruitment and placement
in the technical market place. Involved in developing a computerized
applicant tracking system, a training program for new recruiters and a
technical contract market. Assisted client companies with staffing new
division start-ups, succession planning, and outplacement programs for both
contract and permanent employees. Recruiting tools included organizational
directories, trade publications, trade journal advertising, computer
searches and direct sourcing techniques.
