• Project lead for a distributed POS system
• POS system was built on

o VB6 technology
o With MS Access local database, and SQL Server back-end infrastructure
o Used web services to communicate with the HQ office for order processing and reporting
o Major parts of the POS were later re-written in .NET (C#)
o Used both classic ASP and .NET platform to build reporting system off of back-end SQL

o Managed (and later took ownership of) a 3rd party vendor to implement an online booking
system which integrated into POS
• This POS was 2-tiered
o Included the actual Sales tier – order taking, order processing, etc
o Included “back-office” piece – payroll, accounting, reporting
• I managed all aspects of development process, starting with requirements gathering and scoping
all the way through successful QA and general implementation
• This POS was a distributed system for 130-150 stores (including international stores – in Saudi
Arabia and Russia). The system handled transactions totaling $50,000,000 on a yearly basis
distributed among all Glamour Shots stores. The system was tightly integrated into all areas of
the company, including payroll, end-of-day financial statements, revenue analysis and break-
down (for daily ranking purposes), and other financial and non-financial activities pertinent to
improving business operations
• I was responsible for the daily stores ranking analysis based on MTD, YTD, daily, and year-to-
year numbers. These ranking reports were available to store owners and managers on a daily
basis
• Led a group of our best and most productive customers into a dialog, including conference calls
and site visits, in order to better understand their business needs, business process flow,
obstacles and limitations
• Instrumental in organizing and engaging our internal customers - production, marketing,
management - into a planning process in order to optimize development of the POS system
