ICI Pakistan Ltd.
Lahore, Pakistan
SAP Project Associate (BW/BI Consultant)
(April 2009 - June 2010)
Contract Staff
(October 2007 - April 2008)
During my job, I was working on data warehousing using SAP's
business warehouse toolkit.
Projects:
In my role as SAP Project Associate, my responsibilities include
development of forecasting reports for the various businesses,
financial consolidation reports and development of customized
scripts and applications in SAP's native ABAP coding language.
Planning and Analysis report:
ICI Polyester Marketing Management team would take more than one
hour daily to plan sales based on stock statistics report,
Monthly target sales report, Line wise production report.
A very ambitious project was initiated to make a consolidated
report which consumes less time and all the information is made
available in the system. To achieve this, I collected the
required data (e.g. sales, revenue figures) from different
modules using BW Techniques. As target figures were only used as
a plan, integrated planning was used to budget different targets.
The project has enabled ICI Polyester Marketing team to report
their finalized results in 5 to 7 minutes. The reporting pack was
designed as a BEX Analyzer workbook which linked to about 8
different BI Queries in the background and 4 manual reports on
the polyester plant.
WorkDay One Reporting Project
I was part of the team which was implementing this very critical
six month project. ICI management reporting would take more than
eight days to consolidate financial figures from individual
businesses to create one profitability statement that was
submitted to the parent company. A project was initiated to
report on the first day of the month. To achieve this, I assisted
in implementing BW based consolidation to consolidate business
figures. The project has enabled ICI management to report their
finalized results in 1 working day. The reporting pack was
designed as a BEX Analyzer workbook which linked to about 20
different BI Queries in the background.
SAP BI Server Implementation
I was member of the team that implemented SAP BI for ICI. As part
of this project:
Handled ETL and reporting activities related to different modules
Identify and activate data-sources available in the standard
content.
Where standard data pool was not meeting reporting requirement,
designed custom data-sources.
A thorough knowledge and experience was gained implementing
customized info providers.
Blackberry Server Implementation:
I was a key member of the team that implemented Blackberry
Enterprise Server. I designed and implemented a disaster recovery
scenario which was unique and one of its own kind. It was the
first implementation of such scenario in Pakistan. This project
was one of the biggest projects (in terms of scope as well as
finances) for ICI Pakistan Ltd
IBM Lotus Notes and Microsoft Technologies:
I also had the responsibilities of managing Lotus Notes

Performance Comparison of MIMO-OFDM System with SISO-OFDM System
on the basis of BER curves.
The techniques used to distinguish the performance differences
between SISO-OFDM and MIMO-OFDM involved application of different
types of modulation schemes (PSK, QAM), channel estimations (LSE,

techniques enabled us to generate BER curves that highlight the
performance differences between the two systems.
