Tool Concept Designer, Volt Technical Services (Everett, WA) 2010-2010

Using CATIA V5, supported the integrated fuselage assembly team by

creating numerous concepts for aircraft tool designs on demand. Coordinated

with the manufacturing engineering team and shop personnel in a rapidly

changing environment. Used ENOVIA to retrieve engineering reference

models to overlay tooling concepts. Collected engineering data and

responsible for writing reports, cost estimating, shop time usage

estimates, and investigated aircraft structures for manufacturability.

Supplied finished tool design concepts to tool design customers and

rendered CATIA peer training and expertise as needed. Program: 787

Tool Designer Pacifica Engineering (Mukilteo, WA) 2009-2009

Using CATIA V4 and V5, contract position to create cargo loading

installation tools for the 747 as well as wing support tooling for the 737

program. Temporary, 30-day position.

Sr Tool Designer D3 Technologies (Mukilteo, WA) 2007-Mar, 2009

Using CATIA V4 and V5, created tooling to support the 787 wings,

fuselage, and interiors sections, 747 cargo and interiors, 737 wings, and a

wide array of transportation and storage dollies. Examined tool proposals

and evaluated design alternatives. Analyzed and selected tooling materials

and "off the shelf" components for efficient incorporation into tool

designs. Investigated design or performance problems in existing tooling

and coordinated with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing

engineering and quality insurance to create effective solutions. Prepared

complex tool drawing packages for customer design review meetings and

participated in tool review meetings to coordinate designs with customer

requirements. Did bidding and estimate work on future tool design plans

for the purpose of attracting customer business. Wrote technical reviews

and proposals for reports distributed inside and outside the company.

Authored tool usage instructions and created documentation drawings and

illustrations to augment those instructions. Checked outgoing designs,

drawings, and datasets to ensure accuracy and conformance to customer

quality expectations.

Using CATIA V4 and V5, created tooling to support the 787 Moving

Assembly Line, as well as tool designs for 737, 747, 757, 767, and 777

programs. Responsible for attending design review meetings and

coordinating designs with customers.

Engineering Tech Bayliner/US Marine Boat Group (Arlington, WA) 2004-2006

Using Unigraphics, I created all of the technical and assembly

illustrations for the Trophy family of fishing boats. Was responsible for

the accurate 3D modeling and integration of models and acted as a liaison

between engineering and manufacturing to create prototype fishing boats.

Using CATIA V4, I was part of the team that created, prototyped, and

tested component tooling for the Airbus 380 wing major tools. Worked

independently in a rapid prototyping environment.

Tool Designer The Boeing Company (Everett, WA) 1992-2002

Using CATIA V2, V3 and V4, I did extensive tool design work with the

777 Wing Group, developing a variety of tools ranging from the largest

floor assembly jigs, to simple, hand-held shop aids. Performed wing

tooling and liaison work for the 767 wing and the 747 wings and engine

mounts. Give sole responsibility for creating the spare parts storage and

ordering system for the 777 ASAT-2 machine.

Design Draftsman Bayliner/US Marine Boat Group (Arlington, WA) 1988-1992

Doing traditional hand-drawn board work, supplied the technical and

assembly drawings for large (over 30 feet) yachts to meet customer,

manufacturing, legal, and Coast Guard specifications.
