Development Manager

Delivered technology-based solutions that met all Marketing requirements.

Managed development to all program goals and objectives including cost,

schedule, reliability, and regulatory requirements. Responsible for

sustaining the Precision Workstation desktop line of business. Delivered a

line of value, mainstream, and performance PC multimedia speaker systems,

business class color and monochrome laser printers, and a business-client

backup and recovery tool. Managed technology partners including Intel,

Samsung, Fuji-Xerox, Lexmark, Harman Kardon, NMB, and Altec Lansing

Consumer.

. Managed in-house development of the Dell Backup and Recovery Manager

(DBRM), a highly effective tool that simplifies the recovery process for

customers and levels the competitive playing field. The application is

now factory-installed on all business-client systems (Optiplex, Latitude,

Precision and Vostro lines).

. Upgraded DBRM to produce backup OS and application media in lieu of

shipping physical media in the box. This is expected to save Dell

approximately $11M annually.

. Delivered Dell's first color and monochrome business class laser printers

to establish Dell as a viable competitor in the marketplace (#2

worldwide).

. Significantly elevated performance and credibility of Dell's desktop

speaker systems to world class by delivering their first THX certified

5.1 surround sound PC speaker system.

. Implemented proactive-based continual improvement plan on platforms to

monitor and drive down their field incident rate (FIR). FIR quickly

dropped by more than 50% to settle below goal thus improving customer

satisfaction.

. Developed and executed plan to transfer business class laser printer

. Developed specification for speech recognition test tool that was built

deployment in their game devices.

. Developed a unique off-the-ear gaming headset with microphone so verbal

commands could be speech-recognized and translated into game commands.
