Oct 09- June 10 : McNeil Technologies; Linguist, role player and cultural advisor to the U.S.
Army at National Training Center, Ft. Irwin, CA and other locations. At Ft. Irwin, fulfill the role
of a Major in the Iraqi Army.
May 09 – Sept 09: Student, TRADOC Human Terrain System. Trains on core functions of the
HTS and a new proof-of-concept program run by the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine
Command (TRADOC), serving the Joint community. Near-term focus of HTS is to improve the
military’s ability to understand the highly complex local socio-cultural environment in the areas
where they are deployed. Developed skill in research methodology that includes developing
research plans, ethnographic interviewing, record-keeping, analysis and product dissemination.
Apr 06 - Apr 08: L3-Comms; Secret-cleared linguist working at the US Embassy in the
International Zone in Baghdad, Iraq.
• Worked with the Department of Defense, the Army and various intelligence agencies during
Operation Iraqi Freedom. Performed and taught in areas such as linguist, translator, QC analyst
and cultural awareness--all subjects for the Central Investigation Panel trials courts in Baghdad.
• Translated documents and memos from Arabic-English and English-Arabic, between
Multinational Forces and the Central Criminal Court of Iraq. Provided verbal translation in the
Court with Iraqi Judges and Multinational Forces lawyers, paraphrasing both languages.
Interacted with the American witnesses and described to them the legal process in Iraq.
• Tutored some lawyers in Iraqi Arabic; one of them up to the Fifth Iraqi Arabic level.
Awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from Task Force 134.
