Create and maintain applications necessary to allow Automobile and Home
insurance agents to request quotes from multiple insurance carriers through
a centralized web based application. Work with carriers and project
managers to create the connections necessary using web services, web
requests, and screen scrapes. Translate our internal data to and from the
carriers required formats. Responsible for creating all test and production
software builds on the C# platform, for all developers. Most development is
in .Net 2003/2005 including C# and VB.
Key Achievements:
. Released 70+ units for 13 insurance carriers in the FY 2009 and 20+
for FY 2010.
. Rewrote the base applications used by all C# and VB developers to
streamline development.
. Created the connections necessary to gather insurance quotes using
web services, web page screen scraping, HTTP GET/POST, and FTP.
. Converted various carrier file formats including XML (Industry
Standard ACORD and Proprietary), AL3, IAF, etc. into the ASP XML
format used internally.
. Created the module necessary to transform carrier insurance quote
documents from PDF, HTML, RTF and other formats into base64 for
database storage.
