SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
Negotiations
Professionally aggressive claims handling through settlement discussions
with adjusters. Prepared bound settlement books on all cases with complete
compilation of facts, arguments and exhibits. Each book was arranged by
legal sections and sent to all parties prior to meeting with adjusters to
finalize settlements. This usually resulted in early and mutually
satisfactory resolutions to all parties thus avoiding costly litigation.
Telephone and face-to-face meetings with adjusters over the course of the
case developed rapport and trust and built positive ongoing relationships
for future cases.
Results: Clients often received double their expected settlements.
Leadership and Business Development
Spearheaded all business development activities and was successful in
personally bringing in over $10,000 in weekly revenue to the firm with
annual gross revenues of $600,000. Successfully ran the office of four
attorneys and four staff support employees in a highly competitive legal
market. Purchased a large old civil war building and developed it into my
own law offices in a prime location. Worked closely with bookkeeper and
provided professional financial management to the firm. Management style
utilized bonuses, flexibility, time off and seminars to ensure a harmonious
nucleus, which lasted for the 30-year duration of my firm.
Results: Personally commended by my legal and support staff and others for
managing a truly human law firm.
Continuing Education
As a General Practitioner, I was always an expert or specialist in many
legal fields including personal injury and other litigation, estate
planning, divorce, healthcare and Medicare. I have always prided myself on
taking more courses than anyone else in the area and informing my clients
of this fact, by pointing out these seminars and books to my new clients.
Whenever I handled an important case, I would take a course and always try
and pick the brains of the presiding experts.
Results: Successfully settled dozens of cases for my clients after taking
a specialized class in that specific topic. I am also a lecturer on estate
planning, etc. to companies and currently lecture on law .
Communications and Problem Solving
Consistently worked on minimizing overall costs to the client and
maximizing their awareness of court proceedings and case progression.
Returned all emails, telephone calls and correspondence in a timely
fashion.
Results: Personally commended by hundreds of clients.
