Selected Accomplishments
Utilized Six Sigma processes to eliminate $1.6M annual revenue losses for
PSEG. Client utilized grounded jet engines for power generation but
suffered from insufficient quantity of engines being available due to
excessive downtime. Analyzed process, identified weak links and implemented
changes. Mandated that engines were to be immediately inspected and an
analysis generated. Trimmed overhauling time by approximately 50%.
Turned around off-track project, eliminating $250K loss for Hamon Custodis.
Upon hire, industrial chimney restoration project was beleaguered by
problems, creating potential $250K loss. Analyzed contract to determine
where problematic issues lay. Replaced foreman and crew, improving
productivity. Required accountability from client, withholding labor when
unpaid balances were present and billing for delays.
Reengineered repair processes, gaining PSEG $10M annually. Difficult access
caused excessive repair times for feedwater heaters and heat exchangers,
which was impacting revenue and electricity generation. Led matrix
resources to develop quick access closures, improving repair time.
Installed closures on existing and new feedwater heaters and heat
exchangers. Saved 10 repair days per year.
Improved operational stability, increasing PSEG revenue $5M per year.
Feedwater heaters were undersized for their intended use, causing frequent
failures and forced unit outages. Researched problem and consulted with
subject matter experts. Constructed to-scale plastic models, ensuring
feasibility of equipment arrangements. Installed replacement heaters on-
schedule and under budget, improving performance and reliability.
