IT ARCHITECT - Solution Design ~ Implementation ~ Service Delivery

Objective Statement

Seeking a position where I can continue to deliver significant increases in

net revenues by developing and implementing innovative solutions, and

leverage my knowledge of best practices and industry standards, acquired

through previous experience and continuing education, to decrease operating

costs and increase productivity.

Selected Accomplishments

. Proposed and delivered a teacher portal to provide collaboration

services, student attendance and grade records for a large school

district with 120,000 users. Worked with the customer stakeholders and IT

staff to refine the requirements resulting in expanded scope and improved

usability. Radically increased the success of the project by improving

the consistency in look and feel and functionality available to end

users, increased adoption rate, reduced training expense and lowered

total cost of ownership. Generated an additional $35,000,000 in contract

revenue.

. Proposed and delivered a POS solution to replace existing datacenter and

in-store infrastructure. Leveraged VMWare and a reliable high speed WAN

to eliminate in-store servers, provide a more resilient solution with on-

demand adjustment of server provisioning. Approach saved over $4,000,000

in initial hardware and software cost compared with conventional approach

and over $1,000,000 per year in operational savings.

. Evaluated multiple complementary software packages for use in a large HR

on-boarding project, made buy vs build recommendation which led to a

successful project completion over 5 months early. Resulted in savings

for development, maintenance and operational cost totaling over $200,000

in the first year.

. Developed the installation processes and documentation, helped train

installation teams, and helped manage the delivery of a nationwide

point of sale rollout consisting of 7,000 NT servers and 20,000 NT

workstations deployed to 7,000 locations over an 18 month period.

Review of lessons learned and retraining on use of best practices

resulted in a 25% reduction in onsite installation time and an overall

labor savings of $450,000 (14,000 man-hours).

. Improved operational efficiency of mapping applications by reorganizing

geospatial data to improve performance of the data selection process,

producing a 90% reduction of execution time for data selection processes

and deferring the need for a $600,000 hardware upgrade by 18 months.
