Professional Experience
Raytheon 1997 - 2010
Senior IT Project Manager (2000 - 2010)
Managed numerous projects in one of the six company businesses with 9500
employees. Projects ranged from five people to others that stretched
across all sites from Colorado to Virginia. Examples of projects led are:
Windows 2000 migration. Migrated ~2700 users from various Operating
systems to Windows 2000. This standardized the way all users worked and
with permissions restricted, limited what an end user could load on the
system. This resulted in fewer help desk calls and higher productivity for
each user.
In 2009, a security vulnerability in Windows 2000 led a project to move
servers and users from Windows 2000 to either XP or Server 2003. This
resulted in a higher level of security and production due to less down time
due to system infiltration. Received an achievement award (bonus) for this
Project Manager assignment.
As a Senior IT Project Manager:
. Created, implemented, and managed project definitions, scope, schedules,
budgets, and objectives.
. Monitored and reported performance against base line expectations.
. Identified staff and other resources. Assigned tasks and monitored
performance.
. Conducted reviews for approvals to proceed to the next project phase or
close out.
Information Continuity - Disaster Recovery (IC/DR) Coordinator (2004 -
2008)
Directed all sites within the business division on establishing information
continuity/disaster recovery plans, procedures, and policies. This
included 11 sites and 22 site coordinators. Challenge in 2004 was the
business did not have any plans other than a tape backup and rotation
schedule. By the end of 2005 plans were in place for IC/DR. As a result
the company is better prepared for an emergency. Data can be restored
faster and to more than one site. Manual systems are now in place to fill
in gaps where inoperable data systems would be out during an incident.
. Developed plans, policies, and procedures.
. Generated exercise plans for all sites and for the business as a whole.
. Wrote scenarios for exercises and conducted two exercises per site per
year.
. Implemented the business version of a centralized repository for plans.
. Participated in annual audits from corporate and outside auditing firms
testing the validity of IC/DR documents.

division president's home to solve issues with installs or connection
issues back to the office. Resulted in greater productivity of the
division president being able to work from home at any hour.
