Objective
Seeking a Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance Supervisor or Project
Engineer position in the pursuit of a successful career in manufacturing in
aluminum, titanium, steel, casting, and extrusion or forging industry.
Major strength in rebuilding and repair of large and small extrusion and
forging presses (from 1500T. to 14,500T.) used in aluminum industry.
Provided design and drafting assistance to manufacturing and installation
of components in support of plant maintenance.
Professional Experience
. Facilities project engineer (Contract engineer) for Weber
Metal from May 2007 to July 2008 Paramount, CA.
. Replacement of crack bottom crosshead on 12,000 T. forging
press. Taking the press a part and assembly back on record
time
. Support in all facilities major projects like additional
buildings, repairs of buildings, installation of new
clarifiers and preparation for new Ti grinder and new Ti
expansion building. Using Microsoft project to schedule all
above projects.
. Project engineer specialist for Firth Rixson Cucamonga, CA.
from November 2006 to May 2007 on repair and welding the cast
iron hammer frame in China. Align the ring roller in China.
Started the design and manufacturing schedule for the 1200T
ring roller for Schlosser Forge Co Schedule and direct the
exchange of the main ram on 4000T. Forging press.
. Project engineer for Universal Alloy Canton Georgia from June
2005 to November 2006 for redesign, dismantle removal and
installation of 16,000 Extrusion press from water design to
oil hydraulic. Design the run out table tooling and the
billet scalper for this press. Plan and design new raking
system to be able to move the material faster through the
heat treatment and finishing using the lean principle.
. Alcoa Inc. from January 1991 to May 2005 senior mechanical
engineer. Writing specification for welding main cylinder
cracked for 8000T forging press. Supervise and write work
orders for maintenance crew. Delegate the PM program with
maintenance. Prepare weekly project status and reports for
management and followed up open issues. Design and built with
maintenance crew a caustic recovery system next to auto etch
system. Dismantle and refurbish three forging presses from
I.L.M and install them on Alcoa/Kofem plant in Hungary.
Repair and redesign the two 14,000T extrusion presses in
Halethorpe MD. Plan, coordinate and direct the maintenance
crew on this plant. Minimize the production downtime using
the weekends to do all repairs required. Design and managed
the implementation of engineering projects, including
modification of pump room, extrusion presses, stretcher, heat
treat furnaces. Helping to close the plant on Halethorpe
after 2001 and restart the plant on October 2004. Install the
big block on melting furnace on Lafayette Indiana casting
house in record time and saving Alcoa $ 500,000. Involved and
schedule for maintenance crew all refractory repairs on
furnaces, casting pits, metal throughing and environmental
issue in Ingot plant. Prepare project status to upgrade and
modernize the two biggest extrusion presses in the word
located at Alcoa plant in Samara Russia. I spent three months
in Russia to start this project.
. Shultz Steel on South Gate CA. from May 1998 to June 1999 as
senior project engineer to design and fabricate all the parts
for 5,000T ring expander. Purchase all the bag houses for the
new grinding room. Obtain competitive bids for new air
compressors for the grinding room. Design the new air system
and hire the piping contractor to execute and install the new
system. Remove the old manipulator from 6000T forging press
Glama manufacture and replace with a Dango manipulator
manufacture in a record time of three weeks including new
foundation.
. Universal Alloy Anaheim CA from February 1997 to May 1998
involved with maintenance crew day to day activity and
overhauling two old extrusion presses.
Responsible with increasing the tonnage on the two extrusions
presses above through modification of the pull backs to
double acting pull backs.

Torrance CA. from May1979 to January 1991 as senior project
engineer to design and followed through execution and
installation of big components for 14,500T. extrusion press,
8,000T. forging press. Involved on installation of two vacuum
furnaces for Ti plant. Taking on all
