Professional Experience
KJAYA, LLC. February 2008 - May 2010
San Diego CA
Senior Software Developer
Participated in development of web-based application for 2D/3D
visualization of medical images.
I was responsible for development of client visualization module and server
rendering subsystem.
I have designed and developed:
* Client image visualization module. The ActiveX component incorporated
a variety of image manipulation tasks, programmable by XML
configuration files and optimized for Internet slow connections.
* Server rendering subsystem. The ATL Server ISAPI dll provides specific
medical rendering tasks like visualization of 3D volumetric datasets,
MPR (Multi-Planar Reconstruction), Curved MPR, Fusion, Segmentation
etc.
* High-performance file loader/processor. The component of server
provides asynchronous parallel loading and processing of DICOM files.
* Participated in NSF innovative research project "Semi-Autonomous
Adaptive Neural and Genetic Segmentation of Medical Images" Phase 1
(Award #0839335). Developed the main concept of Phase 2.
FUJIFILM Medical Systems USA, Inc. October 2005 - February 2008
Stamford CT
Senior Software Developer
Participated in development of client-server 3D medical visualization
software for enterprise scale PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication
System).
Responded for architecture, system design, prototyping and implementation
of 3D rendering subsystem and DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in
Medicine) file loader subsystem.
I have designed and developed:
* Server rendering subsystem for visualization of various medical
images. It was developed from scratch and included 3D math library,
scene graph subsystem, rendering engine and etc. Implemented as multi-
layer hierarchical library with graphics API and client-server model
support. Included special 3D volume rendering techniques with various
fragment shaders, blending methods, segmentation and image processing
algorithms.
* DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) HTTP file
loader module.
SAMSUNG Electronics Co., Ltd., April 2004 - July 2005
Research Center, Moscow, Russia
Advanced Printer Lab
Software Engineer
Participated in development of advanced CAD software for design and
analysis of various optical systems including laser ones. Responded for the
architecture, design and implementation of the following modules:
* Visualization module. Class library for graphical representation of
various data and 3D visualization of optical systems.
* Kernel module. Optical system model with a laser source, surface
stack, surface geometry, materials, etc.
* Engine module. The ray tracing and diffraction propagator.
* Input-output module. Support the file input-output in XML format.
* Setup. MS Installer module with implementation of the license
restrictions.
V.A.Belyi Metal-Polymer Research Institute March 2002 - January 2004
of National Academy of Sciences of Belarus,
Gomel (Homel), Belarus
Lab of Physical Methods of Triboanalysis and Surface Monitoring
Researcher - Software Engineer
Developed scientific software such as:
. Application for 2D/3D presentation, processing and analyzing images
obtained by atomic force microscopes (AFMs). The MDI Windows
application incorporated a lot of functionality, like data processing,
2D/3D visualization, measurement tools, FFT, morphology, filters, self-
correlation, the HTML Help system, clipboard and printer support and
so on.
. Application for acquirement and analysis metallographic images.
Developed normalization, segmentation and statistic components.
. Participate in development of complex system for emulation and analyze
molding process by water modeling. Developed the 3D/2D synchronic
multi-window player for the animated displaying of molding process
with dynamical calculations and representations statistical data.
. Various COM objects for Visual Basic applications controlling
scientific DSP based hardware devices by RS-232 serial port and USB
bus.
