role as material manager was to create supplier schedules for Delphi and
other troubled suppliers. The objective was to maintain a 13-day of supply
of 200+ SKUs in the event of a disruption of supply. Participated in daily
planning sessions with GM and Delphi management. Coordinated engineering
changes with GM assembly plants to eliminate potential part obsolescence
and associated costs. Directed the activities of warehouse personnel in all
shipping and receiving processes in order to meet all plant schedules and
delivery windows. Coordinated shipping rack and returnable container
requirements with the assembly plants. Produced daily cycle count schedules
for warehouse supervisors on all shifts. Reconciled all material shortages.
