Principal Project Manager

Management of large and medium scale data center implementation and hardware refresh projects.

Recent projects include:

Migration from Symantec Net-Backup infrastructure to Oracle Secure Backup. This included the

procurement of server and tape library hardware, migration activities resulting in cost savings of

over 2.5 million in licensing fees for the company.

Upgrade of Cisco 6500 switches at Austin Data Center. Included over 20 enterprise switches that

required coordination and communication of impact to business for both internal and external

company environments.

CEL Fusion implementation. The procurement and installation of a new software environment that

included over 150 servers and SUN 7410 enterprise storage for latest software release.

Various server refresh projects that for internal and external facing environments within Oracle

data centers. These refresh projects included security approval activities, business justification,

procurement, and data center installation activities.

BARD ACCESS SYSTEMS, A medical device manufacturer in Salt Lake City, Utah 1998 – 2006

IT Manager

Managed I/T department with a budget of over $900,000.00 annually and a department of 6 personnel

providing support services for over 250 PC users environment using Windows XP with several MS

applications like MS Office and MS Exchange.

Key Contributions:

Researched/Planned/Implemented an upgrade to telephone system that included CMS, Call

accounting, and the integration of voicemail, email, fax solutions to provide unified messaging

platform.

Responsible for implementation of companies Intranet solution. Serving the needs of HR

distribution of information, Document Controls searching and sharing of controlled files, IS

helpdesk requests and support pages.

Established a centralized support system for domestic remote sales force of over 70

representatives.

Developed disaster recovery plans and documentation for all systems in use at Salt Lake location.
