Night Shift Safety / Superintendant Aerotek Energy Services Jun 09 to Present
Oversight of the night shift activities at first as safety and then promoted to General Superintendant for owner over
the general contractor performing the building of a 4 billion dollar coal fire power plant (1600 Megawatt SWUP
Boiler) in Illinois with manpower at approx 3800 union employees. Daily activities include ensuring compliance with
company policies and EPA and OSHA regulations. Responsible for on-site and corporate safety compliance, safety
audits, as well as leading any accident investigations. Responsible for conducting safety meetings, and promoting
safe behaviors throughout the project. Daily walk thru ‘s and inspections of the building process. Attending daily
production meetings, establishing work fronts, meetings with safety department outlining areas of concern.
Establishing relationships with the union employees and coaching all in Safety, Quality and Production.
Responsible for development of Owner construction safety manual and contractor accident trending charts.
Providing monthly update of manpower vs. recordable injuries to owners.

Responsible for coordinating with Management and Subcontractor craft supervisors for pre-planning stages for
lockout/tagout, confined space entry, fall protection, excavations, scaffolding, general rigging, line breaking, and

program. Development of safety committees and incentive programs, and Training of employees for working at
marine terminal along with OSHA basic Lock Out Tagout, Confine Space, Fire Watch, Respirator Use, Trenching

Duties include oversight and development of the contractor safety programs of 3 Gerdau Ameristeel Steel Mills, 2
Fabrication shops and 1 Warehouse. Responsible for the implementation of programs and program development.
Design and structure of monthly reports, and accountability of 5 safety consultants. Ensuring Contractor
Qualification performance and training is completed. Developing of Contractor programs and pre-qualification
process. Initializing behavior base safety programs to track contractor behaviors and training of safety personnel to
recognize them.
Site Safety Manager (Lurgi PSI) Jan 05-Jan 06)
Site Safety manager for engineering company performing an environmental upgrade (Wet Scrubber) at Lehigh
Concrete in Mason City Ia. Duties included development of site specific safety plan, and site erection plan and
required OSHA and MSHA training. Maintained company records on all contractors, developed safety committee

Safety manager for emergency turnaround of hydrogen plant (complete replacement of all tubes). Responsible for
issuing confined spaces and hot work permits within a British Petroleum Plant. Tracking and auditing of LOTO and
the direct supervisor of x-ray teams performing x-rays on tubes and piping components. Supervised night shift in
both safety and repair activities.
