In Less Than 50 Words

My 25-year journey through mass communication has weaved its way from cut-

and-paste layouts and proportion wheels to digital video and Web 2.0.

Adapting to and growing with these changes is exciting, but never obscures

this fact -- newfangled technology flops without a foundation of clear,

concise, engaging messages.

Public and Media Relations Summary

Developed and maintained strong relationships with sports, news and

entertainment media throughout southeastern Wisconsin to secure player and

coach appearances and story placement for the Milwaukee Wave. Organized and

led press conferences and media day events for the retirement of Wave

legend Michael King, Wave ownership changes, the Xtreme Soccer League

launch and the 2008 and 2010 MISL Championship Games.

Created Milwaukee Wave's "Community Now Senior Soccer All-Stars" game in

association with Community Now newspapers (2008-09 and 2009-10 seasons).

Relationship included extended editorial and advertising support within

Community Now newspapers and tape-delayed game broadcasts on Time Warner

Sports 32 and Wisconsin On Demand.

Served temporary assignment for U.S. Soccer Federation as U.S. futsal team

press officer at CONCACAF Championships in Guatemala City, Guatemala (May-

June 2008). Wrote all press releases, started a YouTube.com channel and

helped U.S. player Denison Cabral start a futsal blog. Also "won" a bronze

medal.

Conceived and executed the "Beach Soccer Xperience," a two-game beach

soccer exhibition series between the Milwaukee Wave and Chicago Storm in

June 2009. The Milwaukee game was produced by Time Warner Sports 32,

generated news and TV coverage and cost less than $1,500. Games in

Milwaukee and Racine are scheduled for 2010.

New Media Summary

Guided Milwaukee Wave Professional Indoor Soccer into the new media age by:

o Integrating video into milwaukeewave.com and launching YouTube

302,000 views since February 2007.

o Launching Facebook fan page, Twitter account, Wordpress blog and

Linked In group in a comprehensive social media effort.

cooperation of Infinity Pro Sports.

o Coordinating leaguewide webcasting in the 2008-09 Xtreme Soccer

League season, negotiating and executing pact with B2 Networks.

Generated thousands of dollars in extra revenue for Ozaukee County News

Graphic by conceiving plan to post archived digital newspaper photos online

- including many not appearing in print - for reprint sales.

Led News Graphic into video storytelling via web. Worked with company's

technical director on hardware and software issues, filmed and edited first

videos, trained other staff on the process.

Relevant technical skills include use of digital video cameras, iMovie and

Vegas Movie Studio editing software, content management systems, and HTML

coding.
