SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS

. Integral contributor to the software development life cycle of diverse

applications for a $13 billion retail company with 300 locations and

distribution facilities in two countries. Conducted requirements analysis,

then designed, developed, tested and implemented numerous critical

software development and maintenance projects. Presented regular project

updates to management team. RESULTS: Powerful software applications

expedited ability of users in diverse business units to do complex,

analytical work efficiently and effectively.

. Developed a system to send direct store delivery purchase orders (POs)

for a critical business category to distributors. Collected requirements

from the category team. Consulted with trading partners. Selected EDI

document type, and created EDI specification document for message

implementation guidelines. Coded maps to the standards, and delivered data

via AS2. Set up receipt of a PO acknowledgement back to the source

system. RESULTS: Eliminated need to manually key in items using a

distributor interface, increasing accuracy and productivity. POs sent from

the new category system to the EDI system attained 100% reliability.

. Implemented AS2 software to deliver EDI documents. Performed system

analysis, and installed Cyclone 5.0 on a Sun Solaris Server. Configured

the software to exchange EDI data. Coordinated efforts with IT network,

firewall, and Oracle database teams. Certified functionality of the system

in corporate test environment. Moved the system over to production

environment with success. RESULTS: New process enhanced direct

communication with critical trading partners. Reduced monthly value-added

network cost by 65%.

. Identified that EDI EFT transactions were not compliant with industry

standards. Surveyed other organizations to determine best practice format

for EFT transactions. Developed a system and schedule to retrofit each

trading partner to migrate to the new standardized format. RESULTS:

Increased the number of vendors using EFT to receive payments by 100%.

Saved $250,000 annually due to expanded and correct use of EFT.

. Monitored financial reporting processes for a high profile retailer.

Developed a one-stop web-based store financial reporting system.

Maintained and developed MS Office applications using Visual Basic for

Applications. Developed budgeting applications using Hyperion Essbase

multidimensional database management system, MS Excel spreadsheets, and MS

Access. RESULTS: Delivered a single management retrieval point of all

financial reports.

. Developed critical applications used by state employees for the Office of

the Governor of Texas. Wrote, designed and produced a purchase order

management system and two specialized grant tracking systems. Gathered

requirements and automated interfaces to the internal accounting system

and the Comptroller of Public Accounts. RESULTS: Use of the efficient new

systems reduced operating expenses and increased productivity.
