RE: Construction Project Manager Position
Dear Madam/Sir,
I am writing to express my interest in a "Construction Project Manager"
position as advertised on www.indeed.com. I was excited to learn of this
potential opportunity and hope the position is not yet filled. I believe
my skills and experience will align perfectly with the duties and
responsibilities of the role.
Some of my key responsibilities as a construction project manager have
involved serving as the primary point-of-contact with clients, architects,
subcontractors and vendors. I have had principal responsibility for
effectively and efficiently resolving conflicts which arise, with the least
possible disruption to the overall project and established relationships.
I have good judgment, keen instincts, an analytical mind, and a firm but
calm demeanor. I bring these qualities to bear every day to keep my
projects moving forward according to specification, on schedule and on
budget.
Successfully taking concurrent projects from pre-construction through
closeout, I have created and developed construction schedules, budgets and
cash flow projections. I have assembled cost estimates for new projects as
well as change order requests for work already underway. Being responsible
for managing change issues and project expenditures, I was ultimately
responsible for my projects' profits and losses. At my most recent
employer, I was able to deliver all projects on or ahead of schedule and
under budget.
Often recognized as a 'planner', I possess proven conceptual and practical
thinking skills. Furthermore, I possess energy and stamina and have a
tremendous work ethic. Highly service-oriented, I take ownership of my
work. My integrity and high level of service is confirmed by numerous
positive references - from clients, supervisors, vendors and direct reports
- people enjoy working with me and often request to work with me again. In
fact, supervisors and peers have admired my skill at establishing rapport
and creating trusting relationships across all levels - from executives to
tradesmen. Business development has always been fundamental throughout my
career. I have successfully prospected and cultivated clients, ultimately
bringing in new work.
Thank you for your consideration. These are just a few examples of the
array of traits that I have developed. I want to build upon my strong
experience in the construction industry and believe my background and skill
set makes me uniquely qualified to be an asset. I look forward to speaking
with you about a project management opportunity.
Sincerely,
Joel Sattler
