Experience & Accomplishments
Patagonia Health - Cary, NC
Current
SENIOR SOFTWARE DESIGNER
Implemented a patient search widget for a EMR( Electronic Medical Record )
web application using .NET framework and MS SQL server. The application
uses a SAAS model and WCF. Client side software uses JQuery/JAVA
Script/ASP.NET and data access is through ADO.NET. SVN is used to maintain
the software.
. Used N-tier architecture for presentation, business and data access
layer.
. USED C# FOR APPLICATION LOGIC.
. USED AJAX TO CALL THE WEB SERVICE WHICH GOT ALL THE PATIENTS IN A
SPECIFIC DOCTOR'S OFFICE INTO A CSV FILE AND POPPED UP A DIALOG WINDOW
SO THAT THE CLIENT CAN SAVE/OPEN THE CSV FILE.
. CREATED STORED PROCEDURE TO GET ALL THE PATIENTS INTO A FILE USING BCP
CALL.
. IMPLEMENTED THE USER INTERFACE USING HTML,CSS,JAVASCRIPT AND JQUERY.
. PATIENT SEARCH RESULT DATA SET WAS DISPLAYED USING JQGRID.
NORTEL NETWORKS - RTP, NC 1993 TO 2008
SENIOR SOFTWARE DESIGNER (1999 TO 2008)
Designed and implemented telecom software for DMS-100 switch, servicing
customers in the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, Italy, and England for $11B
global supplier of networking solutions. Trained team members on Automatic
Call Distribution (ACD), Computer Telephony Integration (CTI), and Switch
Computer Application Interface Test Tool (SCAITT). Maintained ACD/CTI team
web page, updating content with new functionalities offered with each
design release.
. Consistently developed defect-free CTI and ACD call center feature
software to support timely and reliable product delivery to
international customers including British Telecom and Telstra in
Australia.
. Performed product verification testing on new VOIP features, improving
testing speed and ensuring ability to meet software release delivery
deadlines.
. Updated and maintained SCAITT in C++ to support DMS-100 software
releases, assisting design and verification team to accurately test
new CTI software.
. Identified and eliminated design flaw prior to completion of design
cycle. Prompt fix allowed release of properly-functioning product
meeting customer requirements and saving potential redesign costs.
. Efficiently solved ACD/CTI software problems. Utilized debugging tools
and consulted with gateway controller design team during code
interaction, allowing for root cause analysis and code resolution.
. Established reputation for quality development and prompt delivery of
CTI and ACD call center feature software.
. Converted legacy MADN feature into object-oriented architecture using
C++, consistently implementing functionality on time.
Software Designer (1993 to 1998)
Designed, implemented, tested and fixed issues in telecom software for DMS-
100 switch in GISDN, Provisioning and ACD/CTI teams.
. Prototyped ISDN Basic Call Connections, B channel selection design
using SmallTalk to achieve flawless design.
. Facilitated provision of user-friendly phone lines by performing all
aspects of OO design to develop line conversion tool (LCT) allowing
customers easier and less complicated interface to provision phone
lines.
. Re-Engineered SCAI processors to manage SCAI messages, improving
performance and reliability 25% by reducing the need for manual
intervention to support application. Increased number of SCAI
processors handling messages, which improved performance rate of
processing.
. Praised by team members for preparing design documentation for
proprietary SCAI processors using FrameMaker where none had existed.
Made documentation easy to understand and offered design team very
usable functionality guideline.
