Oracle Applications Manager (June 2001 - 2010)

Tyco SimplexGrinnell, Westminster, MA. Tyco International Ltd. is a

diversified manufacturing and service company which manufactures, services,

and installs fire protection and security systems, flow control valves and

specialty products for the Life-Safety Industry.

IT Manager reporting to the Director of Applications responsible for Oracle

applications development, capacity planning, financial planning,

management and coordination of all activities for multiple concurrent

projects within the constraints of scope, time, quality, and cost.

Manage Oracle Developers responsible for 7x24 support of the enterprise

applications including Oracle EBusiness Suite, Aceva -an Accounts

Receivables Collections software package, IVR Call Management systems, Baan

Manufacturing, Data warehouse, PeopleSoft and Hyperion Enterprise.

Strengths in project management, technical problem solving, Team management

and client service delivery. Projects included:

. Oracle CRM 12i Implementation - Efforts included 3rd party software

upgrades, migration from IBM P5 servers to IBM P6 servers, etc

o Managed the development effort to convert from 11.5.7 to 12i

. Solix Archiving/Cloning - project to support archiving and overnight

cloning of all enterprise systems.

. $5 million Technology Refresh Project - upgrade/replacement of all EMC

SAN equipment - DMX3, CX3-80, Centera, NS700G, Cisco Switches

o Managed the Application development effort working with the

infrastructure and business teams. This involved managing the

test environments and creating testing strategies for both

system testing as well as performance.

o Managed application and functional team tasks to Upgrade Oracle

from 11.5.7 to 11.5.10

. 40.5 million Project to Convert the Legacy Service System to Oracle

Service and Dispatching Modules

o As part of a company merger - Converted and merged over 100

distributed Dos Databases

o with another companies IDMS database into one Oracle

environment.

o Managed the development and design of conversion Modules and

interfaces

o Managed the deployment for 120 district offices

. Managed and supported the Upgrade of the IVR Service Call system

. Supported the conversion of the Legacy Accounts Receivable platform to

Oracle Accounts Receivable

. Project managed a $500,000 project to use Oracle Order management

for entering small dollar orders

o This was done as part of the effort to remove all processing

from Legacy systems

o This involved both the US and Canadian districts.

. Managed Projects in support of Oracle solutions for Legacy Systems.

This was done in line with the PMO Office policies and procedures.

This included Project gate reviews, resource planning and managing CER

actuals to estimates.

Responsibilities included:

. Establish and managed methodology for multiple Oracle Instances.

. Worked daily on Oracle Production support using Metalink

. Applications owner for all Oracle related Issues

. Managed and coordinated all enhancements and changes for the Oracle

applications

. Worked with offshore resources to develop the most cost effective

solutions for the customer

. Documented Requirements for both internal and offshore development

efforts

. Budget responsibilities for the Oracle application team

. Management - performance reviews, education and priorities for the

team while managing within budget.

. Represented Oracle on all Project discussions involving the

infrastructure and functional teams

. Vendor management - purchasing and contract relations

. Vendor negotiations - contracting consultants

. Participated in hiring practices and negotiations

. Managed scheduling of team activities as part of their role in off

hours patching and testing

. Management of 6 -8 Oracle instances in terms of the strategy and all

activities being performed in them. This included Infrastructure and

Development activities.

Oracle Business Solutions Architect (1998 - 2001)

Provided business solutions that improved revenue and workplace

productivity while addressing business challenges. This involved

incorporating all existing systems and interfaces to create the best Oracle

solution. Collaborated with the business to document the process, creation

of training documentation and creation of test scripts. Responsible for

managing system testing of applications and changes sent from development

teams.
