Maintenance Mechanic
Responsible for all maintenance duties during third shift operations. This
included, troubleshooting, repairing and performing PMs on almost all
systems and machines in the plant, of both the molding and paint
departments. Some of these machines included presses, robotics, ovens,
conveyers, forklifts, plastic process dryers, temperature control units,
chillers, overhead cranes, and other machines. This job also required a
great deal of welding and fabricating. We worked as a team to accomplish
large machine moves and modify current systems within the plant to improve
product flow.
Decreased the maintenance costs for specific machines by developing and
installing new systems to improve functionality.

Troubleshoot and repair industrial machines. This included plastic blow
molding, hydraulics, pneumatics, servo drives, electrical pumps, CIP
systems, packaging machines, conveyers, and laser coders. This job also
included many responsibilities such as focus teams, PMs, helium testing
parts of the system and training lesser skilled employees.

Completion of a four year apprenticeship program within 2 years, and
completion of a one year Industrial Maintenance correspondence course.
Maintenance and repair of industrial machinery. Also included the diagnosis
of problems. This job entailed responsibilities including participating in
team maintenance projects, ordering parts, overseeing the operation of the
metal detectors, setting up and testing all of the machines in a line to
ensure that they were ready for production, answering maintenance calls,
tearing down and installing machines, operating heavy machinery,
calibrating product scales, performing monthly safety inspections of a
large oven, and other general maintenance duties.
