operations to Federal Express. Work was done on an AS/400 interfacing to a Tandem fault tolerant machine.

Analyst/Programmer working on in house modification to Barclays Mortgage Processing system running on

multiple AS/400s. Work involved changes to existing RPG/II modules with a large amount of new

functionality to the system being added. Support for data extraction to PCs was also performed.

Aug 1992/Jan 1993 THORN EMI UK RENTALS

Senior Analyst/Programmer responsible for the development of a bespoke interface between external

financial data from disparate systems and the AS/400 CODA financial package. Automating of upload and

download of financial data between networked PCs; the creation of a suite of programs to handle edit,

validation, reporting and ultimately, posting of external journals into the CODA system. Work was done

using RPG/400, CL, APIs, SQL, DOS, and PC Support.

Analyst/Programmer working on extensive changes to TDG’s in house developed AS/400 warehouse

management system. This involved changes to existing modules and the specification, production and testing

of new modules to streamline the warehouse management process. Help and support to end users at 13

remote sites.

Analyst/Programmer working on bespoke modifications to the AS/400 Island Pacific distribution package.

Work was mainly pure development but some maintenance was also performed.

Analyst/Programmer working in a small team to develop and bespoke sales ledger system to replace an

existing version running on an ICL ME29. Responsible for automating all save, restore, journaling and

security aspects of the system.

Feb 1989/Dec 1991 GTE SYLVANIA LIMITED

Returned to GTE as an Analyst/Programmer working on AS/400 to install and modify a purchase order

system which was supplied from GTE’s European head office. This involved user training, documentation,

testing of supplied modules and where needed, fixes and enhancements. In addition a bespoke sales

forecasting and reporting system was developed. Ad hoc requests by users for enhancements to current

systems were also undertaken with many new reporting and analysis functions being added. Day-to-day

running of the computer department, including training an Operator.
