Objective To obtain a position as a Civil CADD Design Draftsman, where my
skills and experience will be an asset to a quality
Engineering firm.
Employment The Reynolds Group Inc., Raritan, New Jersey
Design Draftsman - 5/2001-6/2008
Utilizing AutoCADD 2008 prepared all phases of site,
subdivision and county/municipal civil engineering plans,
profiles, cross-sections and required details. Developed
base mapping from survey drawings, then proceeded into the
engineering design phase, from demolition to dimension
plans, grading/utility plans, lighting/landscape plans,
along with soil erosion and sediment control plans,
including pre and post construction drainage area maps. I
was involved in drainage design along with site grading.
Prepared color renderings for presentation purposes. Some
of the major clients were the Bridgewater Commons Mall,
Somerset Medical Center's expansion and renovation.
Verizon Communications of New Jersey was also a major
account.
Michael Baker Jr. Inc., Princeton, New Jersey
Design Draftsman - 1/1993-5/2001
I worked closely with Project Engineers using MicroStation
J software to assemble various types of highway/bridge
improvement plans for agencies such as the N.J.D.O.T., the
New Jersey Turnpike Authority and the Garden State Parkway
Authority. I was directly involved in the 10 year duration
Route 21 viaduct replacement project in Newark, New Jersey,
where I was the primary design draftsman responsible for
all relocated/realigned utilities, including the
realignment of the 138KV power line. Responsibilities also
included prioritizing and organizing all structural and
construction details for this massive bridge project. I
participated in traffic studies of numerous roadways
considered for improvement throughout the New Jersey
highway system. I was the go-to-guy regarding the
development of digitized base mapping created from 100'
scale aerial photography for conceptual highway
improvements.
Edwards & Kelcey, Florham Park, New Jersey
Draftsman - 1991-1992
Primarily a highway design/improvement Engineering firm,
developed all phases of roadway drawings using hand
drafting, ink on Mylar technique. One critical project I
was directly involved with was an emergency bridge
replacement assignment for a bridge on Route 9 in Lacey
Township, Ocean County, N.J. that required a timely
completion date. I was also involved with the development
of plans for NYNEX Communication projects.
Johnson Engineering, Inc., East Hanover, New Jersey
Draftsman - 1989-1991
This firm was primarily a site plan and subdivision office,
with all plans created using ink on Mylar. With precision
and accuracy, I was responsible for developing existing
conditions base mapping from surveyor's field
notes/sketches and worked closely with Project Engineers to
assemble all the necessary plans for site and subdivision
approval.
Donald W. Smith, North Brunswick, New Jersey
Draftsman - 1988-1989
Civil design drawings prepared with ink on Mylar for
numerous large townhouse/condominium projects, with the
main client being K. Hovnanian, Inc.
Fisk Associates, Middlesex, New Jersey
Draftsman - 1985-1988
Fisk Associates is where I began my career in Civil
Engineering with a learn-as-you-go, on the job training
approach. It didn't take long for me to develop into a
skilled and proficient Civil Engineering Draftsman.
