Professional Experience:

Technology Consultant 2003 to 2005

SchoolWorks, LLC

Beverly, MA

. Developed an Excel-based student performance assessment and reporting

workbook application for the SUNY Charter Schools Institute (CSI), an

authorizer for many New York state charter schools. This tool allows

charter schools to enter and track their students' key performance data

across multiple years, and present that data to CSI in support of their

charter renewal application. The workbook makes extensive use of

custom menus and VBA macros, making it easy to use for school personnel

with minimal Excel experience.

. Developed an Excel-based performance analysis workbook add-in that

automatically summarizes and analyzes student performance data from a

charter school's SUNY CSI workbook. This workbook performs complex,

multi-year, true cohort statistical analysis by grade level and

subject, measuring such school performance factors as population

growth, retention effectiveness, NRT assessment gains and city/state

performance levels.

. Designed a comprehensive User's Guide for the Quality School Portfolio

(QSP), a web-based decision support tool developed by CRESST (Center

for Research on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Testing). This

online PDF document, containing more than 800 pages and 250 screen

shots, provides QSP users and school administrators with detailed

information on how to set up and use QSP at the district and school

level.

. Quickly developed expertise in all aspects of QSP. Worked directly

with the QSP development team at UCLA to help identify and correct bugs

found in the product, as well as modify the product to make it easier

to use. Provided detailed recommendations to the team for the design

of several new product features.

. Developed and presented many custom seminars, including extensive

PowerPoint-based modules, to several schools, school districts and

other educational agencies in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Indiana,

Maine and New York. These seminars ranged from half-day overviews to

multi-day planning and implementation workshops.

. Developed an Excel-based workbook for use by SchoolWorks staff to

summarize and characterize teacher competencies within a school.

. Deployed and supported several new, collaborative project and work

tools at SchoolWorks, including SharePoint (documentation libraries),

Groove (project and file sharing workspaces) and GoToMeeting (online

meeting tools).
