PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
**/**-******: Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer, Confidential Company, St.
Paul, MN.
Develop concepts and design customized #6 heavy fuel
oil handling systems to supply a large generator set (fuel oil engine-
driven electric power generation equipment) driven by a 1500KW to 4500 KW
two strokes engine. The generator set has to run with both #2 and #6 fuel
oil. The #6 FO must be heated to meet the viscosity required by the two
strokes engine. Interface with internal and external suppliers and
customers to develop high quality design. Utilize modeling and graphic
tools such as Finite Element Analysis, Computer Aided Graphics, and Fluid
Analysis to layout and model a complete system.
05/06-04/09: Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer, Airmo Inc., Coon Rapids, MN.
Develop concepts and design customized testing
machines and tools including end forming, swaging, hydro-forming and tube
testing such as: multi sets swaging machine, triplex expander, high
pressure system, semi automatic tube tester, hydro-forming machine for
copper pipe fitting, Semi-automatic Hose tester, etc. Apply engineering
principles, conduct appropriate prototyping, piloting, and testing to
improve some concepts and validate production machine, equipment and tool
designs. Create documentation (Drawings, BOM, and Schematics) for customers
and support use. Some redesigns are performed for existing product such as:
6KSI-60KSI quick disconnect, 30KSI live swivel, etc.
04/05-04/06: Mechanical Design Engineer, RFA/MN Engineering, Eden Prairie,
MN.
Redesign existing products with custom specifications. Off house Engineer
at Caterpillar Global Paving Products, Brooklyn Park, MN. Mechanical Design
support, review FMEA and recommend actions to improve high R.P.N. Run FEA
using Pro-Mechanica for design optimisation and validation. Off house
Mechanical Design Engineer at Clean Air Products, Brooklyn Park, MN.
Product development, redesign and document existing products.
10/02-02/05: Sr. Mechanical Engineer, MSGI (formerly S.G.C.), Sfax,
Tunisia.
Conceptualization to final design, analysis,
prototyping and fabrication assistance of special machines such as: an
automatic welding machine for lighting poles, a circular shape Oxy-fuel
cutting machine, an automatic octagonal shape welding machine a plasma
cutting machine, an electro-magnetic winch, a structured member conveyor
for a hydraulic punching machine, a mobile table and fixture for a radial
drill machine etc. All designs are performed using a 3D CAD, FEA analysis,
design validation and optimisation and have to be dealt with gearboxes,
ball bearing, frequency converters, sliders, hydraulic cylinder, hydraulic
pumps, pneumatic actuator, proximity sensor, etc.
