Community Outreach Coordinator/PR/Case Management
WellCare is one of the contractors for the Medicaid, Peach Care for Kids, and the
Medicare insurance population in Georgia. I would attend community events,
school open houses, work with hospitals and providers to educate WellCare
members on understanding and using their medical benefits. I covered eight
counties in the east region of Georgia, but also traveled throughout the state if the
need warranted. I also assisted agencies with fund raising and building their donor
bases to partner with the best choices to achieve their ultimate potential in our
population in Georgia. Case management to assist/educate members to
understand Asthma, Diabetes, and Obesity health issues, and getting them to the
best providers in their communities. I was laid off as of May 20, 2009 to budget
cuts

Coordinator for Volunteers, PR, Children's Program for SAFE Homes (Domestic Violence
Intervention Center)
Working at a non profit organization enlisting volunteers from area colleges and
the community, to volunteer and assist our clients in every day activites. Some
volunteers would be working for college credits and to decide if this was their life's
work. I would do presentations about Domestic Violence and Dating
Violence/Stalking to middle school age and college age students to bring awareness
and to give traits to look for in any type of personal violence. I worked in public
relations with fundraising, procuring donations, and assisting with the children’s
program for families of Domestic Violence.
