Developed and implemented Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA),
S t. Charles Fire Code and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulatory
compliance and t raining programs. Established environmental and safety policies
and procedures that focused on both compliance and cost effectiveness. In terviewed,
h ired, and when necessary, terminated personnel to maintain a superior motivated
work force. Passionately communicated the importance of continually t raining an
expanding staff with modern time saving techniques. Implemented and supervised
n umerous programs including: vehicle inspections, blood born pathogen safety

Supervised inventories and repaired hand tools for world class machine shop.

and reliabili ty. Researched to find the best goods and services, and negotiated to
lower prices and to ensure the r ight amount of the product or service was received
w hen it was needed. Displayed outstanding commitment to the customers delivery
expectations with extreme consideration to the continued superior quality of the
p roduct manufactured. Established an extensive maintenance program in the shop
and provided necessary t raining to personnel to reduce down t ime and repair costs.
Used concepts such as the Kaizen philosophy and Lean production to increase
efficiency, decrease waste, and focus on cost reduction. Implemented “Just in Time”
p urchasing and Kanban methods with care given to the impact on employee’s
a tti tudes and expectations. Was instrumental in working with other managers to
develop comprehensive programs such as In ternational Organization for
S tandardization (ISO) to provide for a safe, well maintained, and organized work
environment.

2002
Researched, quoted and purchased a variety of products for exportation including:
household goods, emergency and medical equipment, and industrial machine parts.
Worked in collaboration with other purchasing agents as well as logistic specialists
to receive, package, and ship goods for in ternational use.
• Cargo Agent for Lufthansa Cargo from 1994-1998
Processed importation, customs, and other governmental required documentation
for international air cargo shipments. Worked with ISO managers to develop
p rocedures and policies in warehouse and Import Department. Developed
p rocedures and policies for upper management that created new revenue sources as
well as projects to develop and improve air freight process procedures to lower
overhead costs.
