It does so by providing operational and informational visibility solutions

Active/Passive RFID and GPS; coupling them with hospitals' business
processes enabling agile healthcare operations.
As Chief Technology Officer at Mobile Matrix, I am responsible for

Responsible for the overall IT management of the Central Brooklyn Family
Health Network (CBFHN), the network comprises of Kings County Hospital (630-
bed), Dr. Susan Smith McKinney nursing and rehabilitation center (305-bed),
East New York Diagnostic and Treatment Center, DSSM-Neponsit Adult Day
Health Care, Bedford Stuyvesant Alcohol Treatment Center, and six Family
Health Service satellite clinics. The Kings County Hospital Center
encompasses 20 buildings on 44 acres with 5,000 users', level 1 Trauma
center and over 130 outpatient clinics servicing over 1 million residents
of Brooklyn. Responsible for over 100 IT staff and managed a budget over 25
million per year.
Directed a major upgrade of the clinical software systems; encompassing the
deployment of universal CPOE, closed loop Medication Administration,
Integration Engine, Clinical Rules Engine, Master Patient Index, Clinical
Data Repository and upgrading of three thousand personal computers and the
installation of a server farm within projected completion timeframes and at
85% of budget
Developed a comprehensive strategy for the establishment of an effective
application development environment and the integration of an appropriate
set of tools, methods, and technologies; including rapid application
development, prototyping, computer assisted software engineering, system
development life cycles, object oriented analysis and development
Managed the consolidation of clinical systems of 11 Hospitals within the
Corporation. The consolidation resulted in an increase in reliability and
performance manifesting in CPOE adoption rates from between 85% to 99%
within the 11 hospitals.
Implemented hospital-wide Technology Support infrastructure, encompassing
ITIL Service Desk, Asset Management, Network and Systems Management,
Enterprise Software Delivery and Management, Single-Sign On technologies.
Implementation resulted in improved Service Level attainment, significantly
improved customer satisfaction levels, improved security, reduced calls to
the Help Desk, and reduced system outage times and increased reliability of
the systems. Additional benefits realized were significant cost savings
made possible by analysis of performance data pertaining to operational
bottlenecks. Infrastructure was featured in national trade journals and in
several articles.
Designed RFID-based Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) software for
Behavioral Health facility. Design was recognized as innovative and cost
effective, since it utilized existing wireless infrastructure for
transport.
Participated as one of three Hospitals world-wide in the quality control
assurance of Misys CPR 5.0 for three months after which we upgrade to Misys
CPR 5.0 in production.
As part of datacenter modernization and consolidation project we were able
to deploy a disaster recovery/business continuity environment for mission
critical applications
Developed strategic information systems architecture positioning the
Medical Center to move to future technology while preserving investment in
current systems:
Campus-wide network was upgraded to a 10GB backbone and switches deployed
to provide 10GB building backbone risers and 1GB network to the desktop to
support future technology needs and to provide the infrastructure for the
new telecom system and voice over IP.
Instituted technology architecture to virtualize Storage, Servers, PC's,
Network and I/O. Current state is 80% is virtual with ability to achieve
100% virtual state.
To improve customer service and manage a more complex IT
environment, additional toolsets allowing for the management of the
Network, Storage, Servers and Printers were deployed. This highly
integrated environment allows for reduced cost of operations, improved
service quality, improved user satisfaction and improved compliance.
Fully participated within network and corporate senior executive planning
council to establish a comprehensive strategic planning model allowing the
corporation to remain competitive and expand in terms of the current and
