Objective:
Employment in a dynamic high-tech environment which will make best use of
my computer engineering and/or composite manufacturing skills.
Education:
Lucerne County Community College 1997 - 2000
Associate of applied science degree in Computer Engineering, Graduated
Dean's list, with GPA 3.85
Experience:
Self Employed: Surfboard Manufacture and Repair November 2003 - June 2010
I would take a blank piece of Polystyrene foam and shape it into a surf
board. This consisted of making the board symmetrical from left to right
and front to back. I would set the foil and rocker (foil being how thin to
thick the board would be and rocker being where the center of the board
was). After the board was shaped I painted the board, cut the fiberglass
cloth to fit over the board, and then mixed the polyester resin with MEK
and applied it to the board so as to completely saturate the cloth. After
the resin dried I sanded the board to a mirror finish. I would repair
broken surfboards as well, which was 60% of what I did for a living. This
consisted of removing any impurities within the broken region and sanding
the spot for better adhesion. I would then pack the area with a filler and
resurface the damaged spot. During this time I also helped my brother in
law with his contract painting and did drywall with a friend who was a
contractor.
Conelec of Florida.: Supervisor/Test Technician March 2001 - October 2003
I started as a test technician running Printed Circuit Boards through
customer (Siemens, Class One which is now E-one, Datamax, Invivo) specified
testing. After I was taught how to solder I began repairing PCB's as well.
I used an X-ray machine to find broken traces within the PCB wafers. I
learned how to program and run a robotic conformal coat machine which was
used to systematically spray certain parts of the PCB's with an anti-
static/anti-moisture coating. I also would mix an epoxy resin with a
catalyst which was used to encase a Volvo Penta board for marine
applications. I eventually became a supervisor and would help do
inventory.
Geisinger Healthcare: Data entry/Claim Adjuster 1999-2001
I would enter patient referrals into the system for approval. Towards the
end of my time there I also would adjust claims that needed adjusting.
Additional Skills:
During my time at LCCC I helped maintain the campus TV/Radio studio as well
as the Computer network. I participated in live TV/Radio broadcasts. I
use Linux on my personal computers, and can play virtually any musical
instrument.
