Project description:

The new Maritza East I plant, located near the town of Galabovo, south-

east Bulgaria, will be the first large scale power plant to be built in

the country in more than 20 years, 670MW lignite-fired plant. Maritza

East 1 will be the most efficient and cleanest fossil fuel power plant in

Bulgaria, meeting World Bank environmental standards.

Responsibilities:

. Part of industrial project of Power Plant Maritza East 1, Unit 2

Bulgaria of $ 1.4 Billion.

. Utilized TEKLA (10.2) to design connections by analyzing type of load

and Steel Section (C,I and composite).

. Documented various properties of structural connections in a

spreadsheet. Involved in formation of shop drawings from structural

drawings.

. Involved Design of End connection, Vertical Bracings its connections

and detailing of lot of slope, skew and curved beams, Columns,

Bracings, Miscellaneous etc. Quantity of steel: Approximate 1000 to

1200 tons.

. Provided structural design and analysis of different Truss component

using StaadPro 2007 in compliance with Euro code.

. Verification and checking of structural calculation sheets for client

design criteria or standards.
