Business and Project Management:

Project Management experience includes managing engineering firms, and

functioning as the manager of projects for commercial, industrial, and

military projects. These projects regularly involved architectural,

civil, structural, mechanical and electrical disciplines. The

mechanical engineering components integrated HVAC, piping, plumbing,

and fire protection.

Experience in Facilities Engineering ranges from in plant facilities

work to corporate level facilities engineering. These projects range

from simple installations and renovation to major renovations and new

construction worth over $100 million. Projects were taken from the

user's request, through the approval process and justification. Cost

estimating and ROI validation were performed. Scheduling around

production limitations, equipment availablitiy, and other obstacles

were routine. Space utilization studies were required at times to

maximize the use of assets. At Litton the Engineering Manager

supervised 11 architects to control energy efficiency standards and

coordinate industrial processes.

Project Management includes an in-house design team and retained

consulting teams as required. Each type of design requires QA and QC

measures adjusted to the size and complexity of the endeavor.

Provisions for interdisciplinary coordination is important to minimize

the potential for rework. The best procedures involve establishing

the detailed scope and having the ability to view the finished product

from the beginning and providing leadership.

Throughout career, regular job responsibilities included design of MEP

systems and management of architectural elements, preparation of

specifications and bid documents, managing of the bidding process,

construction phase services, and final punchlist and record drawings.

Business responsibilities have included marketing, client support,

proposal writing, profit and loss monitoring / controlling of the

design budget and project construction costs. Proper client

management will maximize the probability of securing new work and

provide satisfied people who will give excellent references and will

of solutions. Developed specialty stops for conveyor systems for safety

new water based paint facility. Bid and served as project manager for

design was LEED compliant, sustainable, and reduced both construction costs

and energy consumption by 20%. Corporate goal was for 50 new units per

year using A& E firms to site adapt the prototype. Responsible for

approval of design drawings prior to construction. Ecomonic downturn

eliminated new construction.
