Director of Software Engineering
Manager of an internationally distributed system software development
organization that was responsible for core operating systems, storage
system software virtualization and key storage system features
including management interfaces and virtual filers.
1. Proposed and built a team that delivered a virtual storage appliance
that runs the NetApp unified storage system software on VMware (and
other hypervisors) and on commodity servers
2. Proposed and developed a complete storage system simulator that has
saved NetApp tens of millions of dollars of capital expense
3. Developed the FreeBSD-based core operating system that is the
foundation of NetApp's next generation scaleout storage system
4. Proposed and built a development team in India that has delivered many
innovative storage system features including IPv6, and Vfilers (the
ability to create multiple virtual storage systems).
5. Led a multi-location team that created the first version of NetApp's
next generation converged storage system software.
6. Created and led a distributed team that developed the storage scaleout
software and infrastructure that is registered as the fastest NFS
