Objective and Career Summary:
My goal is to use my Lean expertise to develop effective Engineering and
Operations teams that can effectively launch, sustain, and improve
production processes driving operational excellence.
My expertise is developing / optimizing Production and Molding processes.
This includes program management of new automation, the production launch,
and process improvements. For 12 years I have also led operations teams
sustaining long-term operational effectiveness and ensuring the delivered
quality to the customer. My ability to implement Lean principles has been a
key to my success. Automation was designed to provide a robust process
unable to deliver defects. Teams were developed to follow a Lean culture
of urgency and irreversible corrective action. For 3 years I have developed
molding processes using scientific molding (Decoupled Molding) and
monitoring these processes with RJG technology.
Key Accomplishments and Qualifications:
. De-bugged and optimized new assembly automation for manual and
automated processes.
. Launched more than 10 new lines and 20 products in last 8 years,
process robustness, process controls, process capability, and quality.
. Plastic Injection Molding: fully understand scientific method for
developing injection process. Certified as Master Molder by RJG.
. Strong welding back round that includes, precision resistance &
compaction and ultrasonic. Have applied welding to stand alone manual
station and automated station applications. In depth knowledge of weld
parameter development.
. Certified by Q & M Consulting on Production Control Plan (PCP) 2nd
edition and Measurement System Analysis (MSA) 3rd edition.
. I been part of 2 Launches of new focused factories in Juarez, Mexico
with the last 2 companies I worked for.
. Had a Lead role on ISO/TS-16949 certification and re-certification,
implementing MWIs, process set-up documentation and preventive
maintenance.
. Project management leading PFMEA, Quality Control Plan, and process
validations.
. Met operational budgets for scrap, labor, and inventory.
. Developed self-directed teams with effective hiring, conflict
resolution, and relationship building.
. Developed individual team members with vision of future state,
expectations, and accountability.
. Led production operations training supervisors and maintenance, and
scheduling production floor.
. Trained teams on principles and implementation of Lean concepts of
pull system, one piece flow,
Kan ban, poke-yokes, and irreversible corrective actions to drive a
zero defect rate.
. Responsible for culture of safety: machine validation and workforce
expectation /participation.
. Fully Bilingual: English-Spanish
Stoneridge Corporation April 2006 - Present
Engineering Supervisor - Juarez, Mexico
Cabled Wheel Speed Sensors: $14 million annual sales, 14,000
parts/day, 3 shifts, 140 people
. I was part of the team that started Hi Stat Division operations in
Mexico.
. Reviewed product designs for manufacturability and design robustness,
and optimized with 20+ DOEs
. Using PFMEA, conceptualized process flows, poke-yokes, and production
control plans
. Integrated processes into existing Quality System and led resolution
of warrantee issues
. Developed system for daily analysis of all scrap, providing immediate
feedback of process controls
. Precision resistance welding: Electrode and process development using
DOEs. Have made several changes on electrodes design to improve
performance.
. Wire processing: stripping, crimping and process handling techniques.
. Led long term operational effectiveness: 3 ppm defect rate delivered
to customer.
. I was responsible for the implementation of RJG in molding machines.
. Scrap at .2% of sales (Goal is under .8%), Overall Equipment
Efficiency (OEE) at 89% (Goal is 80%).

parts/day, 2 shifts, 90 people
. I was part of the team that transferred Compressors area to Mexico.
. Reached quality and production goals by reduction of PPM's process, as
well as scrap and down time
. I have successfully implemented Self directed Work Teams
. Used several methodologies and tools such as 5 "S", Kan Ban, multi-
skills, one piece flow, SMED, TPM, QRQC (Quick Response Quality
Control), Problem Solving Groups, all this focused for continuous
improvement.
