Make an assessment of non-functioning computers, troubleshoot,
install hard drives, and install Windows XP. Set up a
database that included repairs that need to be done on
certain computers, what operating system each computer had
along with amount of RAM, and size of hard drive.
Computer Information classes:
CINT 210- A+ Hardware class, I did a service project where I
volunteered at Tech Reconnect, Columbus IN, duties
included: refurbishing computers, tearing down computers,
cleaning inside the case, installing memory, installing an
operating system, wiping the hard drive, installing new
hard drives.
CINT 211- IT Technician, I was able to recover operating
systems by recognizing and resolving common operational
problems, common error messages, and using diagnostic
utilities and tools to resolve operational problems.
CINT 212- Help Desk Support and Troubleshooting, I learned to
configure and troubleshoot devices and connectivity,
resolve issues related to operating system customization,
and resolve issues related to application usage.
CINT 217- Preventive Maintenance, I directed the class in
performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of
hardware and software issues, installing Windows XP
operating system on numerous computers, installing Red Hat
a version of Linux operating system. I lead the class
through a power point presentation of how to prevent
getting a virus on a computer and how to fix a computer if
it gets a virus. I also presented a power point
presentation on restoring a hard drive.
