Have graduate in the Fall of 2009 with a B.S. in Environmental & Resource
Science and two minors in Mathematics and Psychology.
Able to maintain a sense of humor under pressure.
Is competent with demonstrated ability to easily transcend cultural
differences. Able to thrive in deadline-driven environments. Has
excellent team-building skills.
Have been awarded with the Millennium Scholarship when graduated from
Boulder City High School.
Joined an art club while in high school during my senior year.
Became a mathematics tutor for about 5 years at Nevada State College.
Gained skills in not only problem solving but also gained people skills.
Have done community service at Hemingway Park in Boulder City and the
surrounding desert.
Have cleaned up trash at the park for about a month to reduce the risk of
the big horn sheep from eating the trash. In this process I have gained
experience in observing animal behavior.
Have participated at the Step Out for the American Diabetes Association.
Started the race to find a cure two years ago and is still participating
in it every year.

Experience
Most of my experiences come from taking courses at Nevada State College.
In taking courses for my degree in Environmental and Resource Science, I
have been involved in research of seeps along the wall that is located
below the Lake Las Vegas Dam. During the time of this research, I have
gained experience in sampling water, some microbiology, measuring flow
rates with a portable flume, locating and identifying animal tracks, and
some geological identification. There has been some training in the use
of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and capillary
electrophoresis (CE). I have gained ability to use various lab equipment
needed to grow microbes that were gathered at the seepage sites. During
the process of studying the area around the seepage sites I have gained
experience in working with others as a team and gained some leadership
skills.
I have taken a class where I have gained some skills in using
Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and reading the maps that are
created from this program.
I have also taken a Desert Plant class and have gained some experience in
identifying desert plants.
