Performed clerical operations such as preparing crew leader and enumerator
assignments, data entry, and preparing training materials. Initially
assigned to recruiting group that took calls from the general public
interested in applying for positions with the Torrance Local Census Office.
Scheduled individuals for basic skills testing and application at various
test sites. Was one of several clerks who spoke fluent Spanish, so took
calls from the Spanish speaking community regarding employment with the
Census Bureau. Performed initial check of test and applications from the
test sites to insure proper completion and accurate test scoring. In March
2010 was reassigned to quality assurance group. Was given training in
fingerprinting procedures and was made responsible for organizing the LCO's
fingerprinting process for all new hires. As a member of the quality
assurance group our main concern was to insure the U.S. Census data
collected by our office was accurate and conformed to established Census
Bureau procedures. Was trained in the Paper-Based Operations Control System
(PBOCS) software and the Matching, Review, and Coding System (MaRCS)
software. Investigated and wrote extensive reports, in MaRCS, for cases in
which improper procedure or falsification of data were suspected by the
National Processing Center (NPC).
Macy's Department Store, Torrance, CA
Recovery Associate, Dec 2009
This was a temporary holiday position. Worked from 10pm to 6:30am to
reorganize the entire store for the next holiday shopping day. Duties
included: folding clothes on display shelves, cleaning up and spacing
clothing racks, restocking merchandise, and returning clothes from dressing
rooms to sales floor.
United States Census Bureau, El Segundo, CA
Enumerator, 2009
First appointment was from March 2009 to May 2009. Involved in address
canvassing, the first phase of 2010 U.S. Census. Responsible for canvassing
city blocks verifying addresses on the ground using a government issued
hand held computer. Work required a great attention to detail. If
necessary, initiated contact with residents to verify address information.
Presented a courteous and professional manner to the public. Filed
appropriate administrative forms as called for by Census Bureau's
procedures. Second appointment was from September 2009 to October 2009.
Worked to identify non-traditional living quarters such as convalescent
homes, halfway houses, etc. Conducted interviews with the staffs of these
facilities using a Census Bureau questionnaire.
Centinela Valley Union High School District, Lawndale, CA
Substitute Teacher, 2008 - 2009
Be on call to take responsibility for the full class schedule of an absent
teacher. The substitute teacher is expected to follow whatever lesson plan
provided by the regular teacher. If no lesson plan is provided, the
substitute teacher must be prepared with a lesson plan appropriate to the
subject and implement plan. The goal is to continue the educational process
with little interruption. The substitute teacher is responsible for taking
accurate roll for each class taught, and submit signed roll sheets to the
attendance office. The substitute teacher must maintain normal classroom
routines and discipline procedures. Contracted for 2008 - 2009 academic
year.
Ticketmaster, Los Angeles, CA
Assistant Data Center Manager, 2001 - 2007
Maintain Ticketmaster's proprietary ticketing system. Troubleshoot any
communication problems between host ticketing system and remote users or
other computer servers. Setup and maintain computer servers as Ticketmaster
transitioned from a VAX to a Linux environment. Oversaw creation and
maintenance of user codes and user privileges for ticketing systems. Work
with Ticketmaster development team to install upgrades to host ticketing
software. Work with Ticketmaster programmers to QA and distribute new
programs for use by clients and field staff. Maintain and repair the
desktop computers within the Data Center department. Assist the Data Center
Director with yearly budget process. Managed a staff of ten employees that
included: checking and submitting staff's timesheets, writing yearly
performance reviews, and disciplining staff as necessary. Was responsible
for monitoring ticketing system load during major ticket on sales to insure
optimal ticketing system performance. Scheduled and oversaw monthly
ticketing database maintenance. Work with Ticketmaster accounting
department to provide month end reports used for financial settlement with
Ticketmaster clients. Was responsible for trained staff on new processes or
procedures as needed. Work on special projects as assigned. Became acting
Data Center Director from November 2006 to December 2007.
Ticketmaster, Los Angeles, CA
Western Regional ARCHTICS Representative, 2000 - 2001
ARCHTICS - an SQL based ticketing system used to fulfill season ticketing.
Was responsible for installing and maintaining the ARCHTIC ticketing system
for major Ticketmaster clients throughout the western region; clients
included: the Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles
Kings. Other duties: developing an installation plan for any prospective
client, installing front end ARCHTICS application to users' desktops, and
insured connectivity to ARCHTICS database server. Train all three classes
of users: regular users, supervisors and management. Setup users with
appropriate user privileges. Work with either box office manager, or
director of ticketing, to produce season ticket invoice for season
subscribers. Create simple SQL queries to collect any information not
available through the front end of ARCHTICS. Setup and configure all season
events and ticketing inventories per client's specifications. Work with
ARCHTICS development team to develop and test new or custom software
features.
Ticketmaster, Los Angeles, CA
Client Representative/PCI Support, 1996 - 2000
Oversee support for Ticketmaster's proprietary software, PCI. PCI clients
included: Geffen Playhouse, House of Blues, Los Angeles Opera, and the Los
Angeles Philharmonic. This support required an above average understanding
of Windows operating systems, computer hardware configuration, and computer
network environments. Assisted clients with importing Ticketmaster data
into third party applications such as Access, Excel, and Word. Interface
between Ticketmaster programmers and client to develop programs tailored to
meet specific client needs. My duties as client representative included:
preparing season ticketing renewals, coordinating invoicing of said
renewals, troubleshooting bugs in client's customized reports, create
reports using Ticketmaster utility REPGEN (report generator), and serve as
initial contact for client's interaction with other departments within
Ticketmaster. Assist clients with Ticketmaster training whenever needed.
Perform PCI demonstrations for perspective clients. Past demonstrations
included: Colorado Ocean Journey, and MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. Was
involved with installation and training for users on the FANTM barcode
hardware and software. Special projects: Ticketing for 53rd Presidential
Inauguration, coordinate national PCI support for House of Blues, involved
with initial setup of Women's World Cup 1999, installation and training of
FANTM at grand opening of Denver's Pepsi Center.
