“AMY” Underwater Sampling ROV
This “Project W” lasted for one and half year and ended up
with development of an underwater mobile sampling system.
As the initiator and captain of this project, with the effort of
the whole team, we achieved the 1 st prize in national
undergraduate mechanical innovative design competition.
For my excellent leadership, I was awarded the “Elite
Innovation Honor” among all the participants across the
nation. My dedication to the project includes:
1. Team organizing & project management as captain.
2. Design of the ROV, water/silt sampling module as Chief
mechanical engineer including all CADs and drawings.
3. User control terminal development with Visual Basic 6.0
4. Modeling & developing autonomous control system for
the vehicle with Matlab Design, robust control toolbox.
5. As the 1st inventor after the design was patented.
6. Modeling, design controller for the underwater vehicle
Quad Rotors Flying Platform
Sponsored by the National Science Foundation and national
innovative student project program, after hard work in
motion control laboratory at Shanghai Jiaotong University
with other two students, one electric and one petrolic engine
driven quad-rotors flying platform was developed. The
purpose of this project is to develop an unmanned flying
platform that can autonomously perform specific missions.
My dedication to the project includes:
1. Chief mechanical design, drawing, parts manufacturing
2. CAE analysis on modal analysis due to engine vibration
with ANSYS
3. Sensor calibration, performance evaluation & testing
Formula SAE Racing Car Design
Led by several graduate students, I became one of the seven
members of Shanghai Jiaotong University’s Formula SAE
racing car team. This project provides us with hands-on
experience in mechanical design, manufacturing. After
solving countless difficulties and problems, we successfully
shipped our racing car from China to US. Our team was
awarded Best Rookie Team prize in 2008 Formula SAE West
competition. My dedication to the project includes:
1. CAD modeling, drawing
2. CAE analysis on modal analysis of the car frame caused
by engine
3. Cost analysis
4. Manufacture and assembly
Hurdling Robot
This project is my first engineering competition project in
the college. As the project captain, together with other two
students, we designed a hurdling robot that can across
obstacles and steps. This robot won the 3 rd prize in
engineering challenging competition. My dedication to the
project includes:
1. Team organizing & project management as captain.
2. Mechanical design, drawing
3. Electronic circuits design
