JOB SCOPE
Business Consultant (Risk Assessment and Mitigation - Scoring Processes)
The aim of the project is to assess and qualify the processes of a key
College Board vendor based on a set criterion. The processes in-scope are
for major tests built, administered and scored by a key College Board
vendor. Based on the assessment define key remediation steps the vendor
needs to undertake to have the processes qualified. Follow up on the
remediation steps and ensure the follow through of the action items.
Operational Risk Assessment and Remediation:
Identification of the ideal set of process parameters and process controls
pertaining to the scoring of CLEP , AP , and PSAT/NMSQT by gathering
information from The College Board and the Scoring Vendor.
. Verification of the Scoring Vendor's analysis of their process gaps and
risks for completeness and thoroughness
. Enable the Scoring Vendor to identify and close the gaps in their process
parameters and process controls
. Identify and highlight key risk areas using a 12 point scorecard (based
on criterion such as Process Documentation, Inspection controls, Change
control validation, FMEA's, control plan etc)
. Identification of potential gaps in the Scoring Vendor's documentation of
these processes and ensure the Scoring Vendor closes these gaps. Assess
risk based on a rubric (critical, major or minor) and red flag the
critical ones for immediate actions
. Assist the vendor in indentifying business process flows and in process
improvements
. Ensure that quality measurement systems are in place to support
performance management and metrics tracking
. Contribute to management of an integrated project plan with dependencies
defined and tracked

IWMI is one of 15 international research centers supported by the network
of 60 governments, private foundations and international organizations
collectively known as the Consultative Group on International Agricultural
Research (CGIAR). IWMI has a staff of about 350 and offices in 12 countries
across Asia and Africa.
As an Advisor to DG on Process Improvements, I led the process re-
engineering & optimization function for IWMI. A key responsibility was to
integrate the back office Finance and HR functions for IWMI and Worldfish,
Malaysia (as sister research centre) using SAP as the ERP system for
finance and HRIS for HR and create a shared service for the two
organizations. The project budget was $100,000

Manager (Process Improvements and SAP Implementation):
Process Improvement:
. Implement quality measurement systems to ensure improvements are promptly
identified and executed
. Facilitated meetings with decision makers, systems owners, and end users
to define business, financial, and operations requirements
. Trained business users on key lean technologies like 5S and Kaizen and on
six sigma methodologies (DMAIC)
. Using lean methodologies like Value Stream Mapping created re-engineered

GE Capital (2003-05)
GECIS, the outsourcing entity of GE (now an independent company called
Genpact), manages the business processes for key GE and non-GE clients by
leveraging process expertise, analytical capabilities and using Lean six
sigma.
As a Six Sigma Black Belt, owned the quality, productivity and key CTQ
metrics for the Finance processes supported. Supported over 100 processes
which involved Financial Planning and Analysis for GE Industrial and GE
Credit cards.

. Led the process of defining key CTQ metrics for the FP&A processes
. Reviewed and help the operations improve productivity levels and

the receivable & collection performance analytics for GE Energy Services.
Through building relationship with clients and by diligent account mining,
I grew the team from 2 to 10 FTEs over a period of 1 year. The cycle time
reduced by 2% across the different sub P&L's.

Gillette, now part of P&G, is a leading packaged goods company. Gillette
India Ltd. was a $500M business with a headcount of over 500. As a
Financial Analyst, Planning & Reporting (South Asia Exports - $10 MM
business), responsible for planning and reporting for the entire business.
The position was a matrix reporting into the regional financial planning
manager & the regional business director. The responsibilities also
involved SAP-FICO Data Integrity Analysis.
