Dear Mr. Hiring Manager:

My past experience has been in management and design and I would like to

make a lateral move into a design position that would use my knowledge and

experience while incorporating my skill sets gained through many years of

experience in the architecture and development business. I am seeking a

position with an active, forward moving organization, which Office Max is

Most recently I served as Divisional Vice President of Design Management

for JPI. My experience with JPI, as well as my many years of experiences as

Director of Architecture; Partner; officer; and/or owner of other

development, management, architectural and architectural/ engineering

offices has provided me with a broad range of project experience with

client relations and contract negotiations; design and design development;

contract documents; and, construction administration. Although my primary

focus has been on new development, during my years with JPI I worked very

closely with our multi-family acquisitions, construction and asset

management groups assisting with due diligence, reconditioning and asset

improvement work.

I am now reaching out to the active architectural, development, retail,

management and/or construction markets where I might offer the value of my

professional experience. I have attached my professional resume that

outlines the past 20 years of my professional history. I am a registered

architect and, as mentioned above, have been an owner, principal or manager

in other diversified development, management, architectural and

architectural/engineering firms. The past 13+ years I have been in the

development/ management business with one of the top development/

management/ construction companies in the country. My resume demonstrates

the broad range of my professional experience.

My primary focus has been to assemble the entire design consultant teams

and manage their activities from conceptual design through the entire

permitting process and construction management. My broad-scope task list

has included: contract negotiations and execution of consultant agreements;

working closely with the owner, asset managers and developers through the

planning and zoning efforts as related to design, production development

and construction processes to establish the appropriate project culture

that will meet and/or exceed the owner's expectations; review all plans and

specifications for appropriateness and city's requirements; coordination of

building code efforts with the design team as well as completeness; working

with the architect/engineers through the permitting process to argue and

protect the owners interest; insuring that the contractor's RFI's are

properly addressed; and maintaining the owner's change order and

contingency accounts.
