EXPERIENCE:
8/2012 - 8/2014 Mechanical Engineer
Onesubsea, Houston, Texas
Design deployment system for sub-sea flow-line connection. Sustaining
engineering per customer request by implementing ECO, DCN and update
bill of materials to improve/modify existing equipment. Tools used for
design, Inventor, Auto-Cad.
1/2007 - 8/2012 Mechanical Engineer
Hamilton Sundstrand, Houston, Texas
Lead design engineer for Gaseous Helium cryogenic shrouds. Designed
shroud system components and major assemblies from conceptual design to
PDR to support James Webb Telescope Space environment testing in
Chamber A at JSC. Designed vacuum jacked piping for Liquid Nitrogen
distribution system for the test chamber. Performed sustaining
engineering by creating engineering design change notice to create as
is drawing and bill of materials of components and large assemblies. .
Developed shroud design requirements. Collaborated with thermal and CFD
group to optimize the Helium shroud performance. Designed vacuum jacked
piping system to support the liquid nitrogen thermal siphon system.
5/2001 - 1/2007 Staff Engineer
United Space Alliance, Webster, Texas
Lead Small Area Repair (SAR) Orbiter RCC repair project by providing
CATIA models of SAR component assembly for concept verification.
Develop Concept of Operations document. Created flow down requirements
verification matrix for SAR project. As a vehicle integration project
lead for Orbiter Improved Wing Leading Edge Sensor system (IWLESS) I
was responsible overseeing the implementation of the system hardware in
the vehicle. Lead Digital Shuttle project by reviewing Shuttle Drawing
System (SDS) drawings and creating hour estimation to convert 2D SDS
drawing format to 3D CATIA models. Lead Electric Auxiliary Power Unit
(EAPU) project by providing conceptual designs for integrating the
hardware in the 1307 bulkhead of the Orbiter vehicle. Supported in
creating various project related documents
Developed test plans and verification procedures of various projects.
Participated on all projects System Engineering IPTs and worked on
related actions/studies.
10/1998 - 4/2001 Mechanical Engineer
Johnson Engineering, Webster, Texas
Responsible for creating Pro-E designs to fabricate various
International Space Station (ISS) hardware and mission specific Neutral
buoyancy laboratory (NBL) and other trainers used for training
astronauts. Design simulation structure and components of all
outfitting of the ISS P3 truss. This included crew and equipment
transport assembly (CETA), unpressurized logistic cargo carrier
(ULCAS), segment-to-segment mechanical assembly, umbilical mechanical
assembly (UMA) and support structure, remote power control module
(RPCM) housing assembly, mobile transport rail assembly and S-band
antenna. As a team member, I was responsible for designing various
components for a full scale mockup of ISS P3 Truss; specifically
structural beams, bulkheads, longerons, hinges and connecting pins.
Designed various ground handling equipment for flight hardware. Design
work also included engineering evaluation and selection of materials,
estimation of material cost and preparation of design packages for NASA
reviews. Additionally I provided liaison-engineering support to the
manufacturing shop.
