Spring 2010-Present General Manager WTJU-FM Charlottesville, VA
. Created volunteer and student leadership structure to review and make
format changes, develop marketing and revenue plan, and create new
paid staff and volunteer station positions.
. Instituted and trained DJs on new ENCO DAD and Presenter systems to
manage live assist and automation.
. Instituted new volunteer operations manual with assistance from
University general counsel to codify FCC and DMCA rules, and station
and University policy on copyright, studio/facilities use, and student
and volunteer rules, regulations and citations.
Fall 2009 Program and Systems Consultant WPHB-AM Philipsburg, PA
. Developed Americana programming mixed with Classic Country format
already in place for new ownership. Instituted BSI Simian software
for live assist and automation and Natural Music for scheduling.
2006-2009 GM/Program Director, WXLV-FM Schnecksville, PA
. Reorganized/reformatted as a full service station.
. Trained and managed 25 member program staff of student and community
volunteers.
. Wrote and got FCC construction permit and PTFP grant for signal
expansion.
. Tripled audience Cume to 10,000 listeners in first year.
. Executive producer of Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs baseball on WXLV,
negotiated agreement as flagship station of new AAA minor league
team's 5 station network.
. Launched internet radio station to teach students broadcast
programming, style and music selection.
. Americana Music Association music reported and served on Station
Recruitment Committee.
1997- 2006 General Manager, WDIY-FM, Bethlehem, PA
. Created and met first manager-originated budgets for 2 year-old
station in 1997.
. Brought station into full CPB certification and NPR Membership in
1997.
. Increased budget revenues from $150,000 to over $500,000 in 5 years.
. Brought stability, communication, and trust that insured little staff
turnover.
. Brought $100,000 into station for digital conversion and HD Radio.
. Negotiated management agreement with Lehigh Carbon Community College
to build WXLV into a full service public radio station.
1996-1997 General Manager, WRQM-FM, Rocky Mount, NC
. Developed professionalism and pride among staff and volunteers,
managing all areas of programming, marketing, development and
operations.
. Successful on-air fund-raising system brought together 80 volunteers
to triple membership base income in 9 months from $40,000 to $120,000.
. Negotiated sublease of tower and unused studio space for commercial
WZAX-FM for entrepreneurial income.
1988 - 1996 Station Manager, WNCW-FM, Spindale, NC
. Launched new NPR member station in 1989. Designed facilities, managed
FCC and tower site negotiations, designed and marketed one of nation's
first and fastest growing Triple-A (album adult alternative) and
Americana stations.
. Wrote and managed revenues operating in black after first year, from
zero to $650K in six years.
. Fine-tuned business, programming and on-air sound to double and
redouble audience, membership and fund-raising pledges in 1992 and
1995.
. Expanded reach to 5 markets in 3 years, organizing campaigns to fund
and build FM translators/ in Charlotte, Knoxville, Greenville (SC),
Boone and Beech Mountain, NC.

. Designed, wrote curriculum and taught Broadcast Management, Radio and
