Magnet Mapper (Fall, 1998)
Worked on an experiment involving the Relativistic Heavy Ion
Collider. The RHIC was used to detect a subatomic particle called
muons. In order to do this a magnetic field was needed. I built
equipment to be used in mapping of the magnetic field, designed and
assembled wiring schemes, and installed the probes that performed
the detection.
Muon Identification Mechanic (Summer, 1998)
Part of a team that built the muon detection system. We manufactured
and installed parts for the electric and gas schemes of the
identifier. Supervised production of needed parts, and participated
in quality assurance testing. Measured capacitance and tested
voltage of assembled parts.
