Role : MDM Architect on Global MDM SYNC Project
Wal-Mart has decided to merge their Location Master
Data Management HUB which is getting implemented
for Multi-Countries into single application, on the
similarly lines the second application Supplier
Master Data Management Hub follows the same
footsteps of multi country role-outs. Both of these
applications are developed on IBM MDM Server
Product under the Wal-Mart Profit MDM Program. As
of now there a 3 countries in production
(applicable both for Location and Supplier Hubs)
viz., United Kingdom, North America(US, Canada and
Puerto Rican) and Japan. Has started with
integration of UK & NA as a pivotal project and the
same process will be continued for the next
countries to be rolled out into production and the
process of Syncing them into a single application
follows sequentially. This project was crucial,
critical and high magnitue for Wal-Mart Business as
it involves not only the technical challenges but
also merging of large regional functionalities into
a single application which was a humongus task. As
a MDM Architect for Global MDM SYNC project his
responsibilities includes but not restricted to
providing architectural, functional and technical
directions to his 20 member team along with
managing them. His team members span across the
landscape of Profit MDM Program teams viz.,
Legacy(Mainframes), Data Integration(DI), Extract
Transform and Load (ETL), Master Data Management
(MDM), Enterprise Application Integration (EAI).
Responsibilities Held :
Architecting the Global MDM SYNC project and
providing architectural directions to the team
members for both the applications Location Master
Hub and Supplier Master Hub.
Planning the tasks and managing of team members
along with coordinating the activities with
relavent teams of Project Landscape.
Mentoring and monitoring of team on functional and
technical aspects of MDM Product and in
coordinating the SYNC activities across the

Principal Consultant his responsibilities includes
managing 25 member team in architectural, technical
and functional aspects. His team members were
working on two different applications named
Location Master HUB and Supplier Master HUB under
the program called Wal-Mart Profit MDM. These two

instances of IBM MDM Product v7.0.1.
Responsibilities Held :
For enterprise level socialization of custom MDM
services / artifacts from Location Master and
Supplier Master HUBs, he had provided architectural
and functional assistance to the client in
practicing the architectural, strategic and
technical approach.
Few of the functional areas in which he has
provided architectural guidance in the project are
Security, SOA with Web Services, Event Manager,
Message backfeed (to the source systems), MDM
Product Upgrade process, Message Logging in

This web application was developed on MVC
Architecture. This is based on the Dual Currency
Deposits functionality of Banking domain. The

the MVC Frame Work we had completed the project

week. This architecture helped us in distributing
work effectively among web designers and Java Bean
Developers.
