OBJECTIVE
I am looking for steady work in the construction
and maintenance supervision / inspection / safety
fields.
I enjoy working under pressure - late nights, long
hours, uncomfortable conditions are not a problem
as I have plenty of experience with that sort of
thing in the fire service, the army, and the
refinery.
I would like to stay local (LA area) but am willing
to travel if necessary and can work on or
off-shore.
EXPERIENCE
After starting work as a blocktender building retaining walls in the
Inland Empire, I was a firefighter with the California Department of
Forestry until I joined the army in 1991.
At the end of my enlistment I spent several years as a soils
inspector before being hired as an assistant superintendent and
later, superintendent in Orange County.
Most of the work I supervised was 'off-site' (grading, utilities,
masonry, landscaping).
The last two years was spent working in the petrochemical industry
as a maintenance foreman.
