Skills:
-Eight years of experience managing restoration and remodeling work on multi-
family and mixed-use buildings. Familiar with all protocols regarding work on
occupied structures. I am able to estimate residential repair projects with a high
degree of accuracy.
-Journeyman level carpentry skills. Skilled in window and door installation and
renovation, including waterproof flashings and thresholds; roof framing; stair and
wall layout; and open frame and waterproof decks. Proficient in concrete set-ups
and forming including stairs, shotcrete, retaining walls, flatwork, footings, pier and
grade beam foundations, use of self-consolidating concretes, seismic bolting,
and foundation replacement under existing structures. Experience with complex
rebar fabrication and installation.

envelopes. Experienced in all aspects of waterproofing, including stucco lath,
commercial caulking, foundation waterproofing and damp proofing, epoxy
injection and epoxy floor and wall coatings, Bituthene systems, single-ply
systems including EPDM and heat-welded PVC, and subsurface drainage
systems. Highly proficient in designing, constructing, and coating waterproof
deck systems, including properly sloped structures, sheet metal flashings,
elastomerics, asphaltic membranes, cementitious membranes, fiberglass
coatings, and tile work. .
-Extremely knowledgeable in concrete repair including application of acrylic
repair mortars (Sika, Sonneborn,), cementitious coatings, and epoxy repair
systems.
-Capable in residential plumbing work, including installation and replacement of
fixtures; water, gas, and DWV rough-ins; and under-floor radiant heat systems.
-Adept at blueprint reading, conducting material take-offs and costing out job
proposals.
-Able to perform highly complex building layouts and site surveys. Able to
prepare cut-and-fill worksheets. Skilled in the use of an engineer's transit,
engineer's level (dumpy level), Philadelphia rod and engineer's tape. Capable of
calibrating surveying instruments, reading and understanding survey reports and
maps, and performing calculations necessary for survey work (trigonometry).
-Able to use a PC/laptop and run Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Outlook.
Some experience in Master Builder.
- Capable of performing, managing and distributing digital photo documentation

-160 semester hours of higher education including an Associate of Science

Simultaneously and with high level of independence, managed multiple multi-
family restoration jobs and/or single-family remodels in excess of one million
dollars in value. Wrote all job-related correspondence with Architects, Engineers,
and Construction Managers including RFI’s, substitutions, and change orders;
costed out and assembled bid packages; hired and supervised all subs; hired
employees; prepared and maintained job schedules. Completely responsible for
the safety and profitably of all jobs under my control. Managed up to 60
subordinates at once.

Run restoration/remodeling jobs up to $3.2 million with up to 25 in-house
subordinates plus multiple subcontractors. Mobilize jobs; perform take-offs;
purchase all material; solicit bids from, hire, schedule, and supervise all subs;
pull permits; keep daily jobsite log. Coordinate schedule with property managers
or owner's agents. Work was mainly restoration work on multi-family housing
units.
-Foreman, Lotus General Contractors, Emeryville, Ca. 10/2002-6/2004
Run crews of two to twelve men on waterproofing, concrete repair, and
demolition on residential remodel/ restoration projects; hire and supervise
subcontractors; assist senior estimator with labor estimates; perform material
estimates; purchase and coordinate delivery of materials; assist in the hiring of
subordinates; pull permits and schedule inspections. Ran several public works
jobs.
-Owner-Builder Project, Oakland, Ca, 4/2002-10/2002
Installed new foundation and basement under existing hillside residence with
very difficult access. Removed 300 cy of soil; leveled and shored 2-story house,
constructed drilled pier & grade beam foundation; set-up and supervised
spraying of shotcrete foundation walls; installed new shear walls, glass block
windows, waterproofing system, drainage system, new front retaining wall and
two-story concrete and waterproof wood staircase; replumbed entire house
including new bathroom in basement; lathed and stuccoed repair area.
-Foreman and Waterproofer, Acrotech, Inc. San Francisco, Ca, 4/2000-
4/2002
Waterproofed decks, driveways, walkways, and foundations using elastomeric
urethanes, cementitious coatings, and fiberglass systems. Performed extensive
dry rot and termite repairs. Worked alone and with up to seven subordinates.
Projects ranged from 50 to 20,000 sf.
-Concrete Finisher and Coatings Applicator, Adams Pool Solutions (Earl
Adams Tile & Plaster), Pleasanton, Ca, 3/1998-4/2000
Member of crew that demolished and replaced existing pool decks and other
concrete flatwork. Constructed often very complex high-end concrete and
drainage set-ups. Acted as foreman on decorative concrete coating jobs. Work
was about half “remove & replace” and half decorative coatings application.
