ATTN: Human Resources Manager

RE: Fashion Assistant posting

Dear Sir/Madam,

It is with great interest that I submit my resume in response to the

Fashion Assistantl posting. As you will note from my resume, my formal

training in Fashion Design and past work experience make me a good fit for

this position.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design. When I graduated in 2003, my

primary focus was to learn English so I moved

from my hometown, Quebec City, Canada to England and worked in the

Hospitality and Restaurant industry for one year. However, one year was not

enough to become bilingual so I decided to move to Vancouver BC, Canada and

found work at a medical clinic as a Data Processor. My goal was still to

get into the Apparel Design industry. I was hired by Arc'teryx, a Canadian

apparel and sporting goods manufacturer specializing in high performance

outdoor gear, in 2007, as a Warranty Return Coordinator. This work

experience has allowed me to increase my knowledge about clothing

construction and technical fabrics. At the same time, I was also performing

freelance work for a local designer; I was responsible for executing

electronic technical drawings for clothes produced overseas. I moved to

Boston January 2010 and I am here to stay. I attended the Boston School of

Fashion Design and in the spring semester completed a "CAD for Fashion

Design" refresher course. More recently, I created the fashion

illustrations that will be published in the upcoming book by author Jay

Calderin. I did not chose the most conventional career route but I have

worked internationally, I have dealt with customers directly, I have done

freelance work and I have worked for one of the most innovative outdoor

company. I feel that these combined experiences are what set me apart from

other applicants.

I am proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and I have knowledge of

NedGraphics. I understand manufacturing process, I create impeccable flat

sketches and I have strong presentation skills. I am equally adept at

performing as a project team member or working independently; I am familiar

with communicating and organizing cross internal teams and overseas. I also

have excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills. My goal is to work

permanently in the Fashion Design industry as a Designer. My resume is

attached; I hope you find it corresponds quite well to the position

description. I would be happy to come in for an interview and discuss ways

in which I can contribute to your organization.

Thank you very much for your consideration, please do not hesitate to

contact me should you require more information.

Sincerely,

Marie-Eve Tremblay

Objective

To obtain a position where I can provide the designers and developers with

the administrative and design support required to create and execute great

products.
