Receive, inspect and process originating and terminating general and
special
handling cargo. Inspect all incoming and outgoing general cargo and
special handling

Perform a broad range of materials handling assignments/activities, such as
Receiving, inspecting, storing, selecting, and transporting materials.
Performs receiving
and storage assignments; unloads incoming shipments, inspects for proper
documentation, labeling, marking and configuration, key receipt information
into
inventory system; builds and/or breaks down pallet loads to facilitate the
movement of
cargo/mail; transports materials from receiving area to designated storage
areas; store and
arrange items in accordance with warehouse plans, keeping aisles and other
traffic areas
free of obstructions; use equipment to move, stack and select items being
shipped and
received. Perform tasks involved in issuing/transferring items; selects
and assemble
items. Obtains overall freight shipment schedules. Review inventory reports
for cargo on
hand.
Responsible for efficient operations of accurately pulling, checking,
processing orders,
overseeing all special instructions of proper handling of orders /
shipments noted on
paperwork to ensure we our in compliance with our customers shipping
requirements,
such as; proper pallet requirement, product stacking requirements, and
routing
instructions to avoid costly noncompliance fines.
I perform daily tasks of loading and unloading of containers or trailers by
operating
material handling equipment such as, sit-down, standup lift trucks, standup
reach lift
trucks, and order pickers. I have the experience and knowledge of properly
loading
containers and trailers to meet the DOT highway requirements.
I have in-depth overall knowledge of overseeing a 30,000 sq, ft. warehouse
operations for both Thomas Bros Maps and Rand McNally. I have extensive
knowledge of supply operations and programs requirements to investigate and
reconcile discrepancies relating to receipt control, stock control, and
inventory adjustments.
I have the ability to study, develop, and recommend improvements to current
warehouse practices to promote efficiency, accuracy, faster service and
lower costs.
I directed daily warehouse activities based on the level of business
provided from our supply chain / marketing support groups to determine
where staff needs to be placed to best maximize the efficiency and
productivity of the day of processing receiving and shipping activities to
ensure completed work is done correctly and safely.
Strong communication skills, along with strong organization and
administrative skills.
I had the responsibility of oversee the company's safety issues such as,
development and implementation of emergency action plan, disaster &
relocation plan, earthquake preparedness and fire prevention plans. injury
& illness prevention plans, and security issues including injury prevention
programs.
