. Reduced assembly areas approximately 25% through redesign of client's

Class 8 truck manufacturing facility layout by utilizing ergonomic design

and lean manufacturing concepts.

utilizing air pallets and eliminating unsafe operation of pushing and

pulling manual skid mover.

handling, U3O8 powder handling and miscellaneous commodities container

handling for a major U.S. nuclear fuel rod assembly manufacturer.

. Provided engineering design solutions, appropriations justifications,

project management, implementation and start-up for all capital projects

for two-year period for international aluminum manufacturer.

. Defined the materials transport, handling and storage requirements for

site development, construction of all support functions, and construction

of multiple nuclear power plants in the United Arab Emirates.

. Designed and integrated cooling tables for handling hot, 8-inch steel

pipe and the associated pipe conveyor systems with a pipe straightener,

straightener by-pass, a dynamic inspection station and the cool pipe

discharge station.

. Provided technical liaison between client and paint supplier for

qualification and implementation of a new heavy truck paint process;

including part cleaning, part handling, pre-paint preparation, paint

testing, and facility and process acceptance "buy-off" procedures.

Industrial Engineer and Plant Industrial Engineering Manager at multiple

sites developing manufacturing methods and incentive programs, continuous

improvement, waste elimination, ergonomics, equipment layouts, department

budgeting, and providing input to the plants' business plans and budgets.

for North America Mold Tooling and Mold Manufacture.

. Saved over $3 MM dollars over eighteen month period by analyzing

production forecasts and production schedules for all North American

corresponding manufacturing costs.

. Provided planning and budgeting support to Dothan, AL Plant Manager and

directed the plant Industrial Engineering staff for incentive development

and process improvements resulting in cost reductions equivalent to 2-

plus times the I.E. department annual salaries.

. Redesigned tire manufacturing methods, equipment layout and equipment

cycles to facilitate efficient manufacture of polyester fiber bodied

light truck tires and the first U.S. designed Michelin ultra high

performance OEM tire in the Dothan, AL facility.

. Directed Industrial Engineering staffs in two tire tooling and mold part

machining and aluminum injection shops in the implementation of Just-In-

Time and cellular manufacturing techniques reducing in-process inventory,

improving quality, reducing cycle time and reducing costs by 20%.

. Coordinated a $20MM mold manufacturing expansion study / reorganization

plan including relocation of existing equipment and installation and

start-up of new equipment which provided manufacturing capacity to meet

the increased tooling demands.

. Implemented material handling improvements and new facility layouts in

rubber mixing facility and raw material warehouse which delayed hiring of

eight employees at an annual savings of approximately $200,000.

UNION CARBIDE CORPORATION, NUCLEAR DIVISION, Oak Ridge, TN 1970 - 1978

Department of Energy (DOE) Contractor manufacturing Uranium Hexafluoride

(UF6) Gaseous Diffusion equipment and operating a uranium enrichment

facility for the manufacture of "nuclear power grade" enriched uranium

hexafluoride.

Maintenance and process engineer for the Maintenance and Operations

Divisions providing Maintenance Engineering support to the maintenance

shops and Operations Engineering support to the equipment test shop,

process facilities and decontamination / disassembly shop.

. Managed Union Carbide's K-25 Operations Division Quality Assurance

Program for Uranium Enrichment Facility compliance, program training,

implementation and audits.

. Assisted in the design, development, and prototyping of a fast-acting

emergency shutdown sealing system for prevention of uranium hexa-fluoride

gas leaks from axial compressors.

. Developed and implemented an oil reclamation / recycle system for

cleaning 500,000 gallons of process lubrication oils.
