I would like to apply for the Delivery Driver position. I just turned 58

years old and recently accepted a financial offer to retire early from

Verizon after a 31 year career, however, I consider myself to be between

jobs. I would like to work for approximately another 15 years.

I worked as a technician for Verizon. Previous to that I was a secretary

for about 9 years. My driving record is spotless. I have a GPS system and

a cell phone that may assist me in my deliveries. I recently took a five-

minute timed typing test administered by the Department of Labor and

Training and achieved 52 words per minute. I have extensive customer

service experience and excellent penmanship.

I graduated with honors from CCRI in 2003 and received an associate degree

in applied science in telecommunication technology. My grade point average

was 3.46.

I own my home in North Providence and have lived in the Providence area all

of my life and worked in the city. I am a very polite and pleasant person

who frequently wears a smile. I take my jobs very seriously and am

extremely dependable, loyal and trustworthy. You will never have an

attendance issue with me.

I already have full medical insurance and an income, so my needs are

modest. I believe I could be an asset to your organization and would look

forward to meeting you in person.
